Just when I thought I'd seen everything in this show...

The racism is strong in this season. Yikes

How did she go on another date, let alone get engaged after THAT comment?!😮

If someone tells you that they wouldn’t be with someone of your race and you still choose to pursue that person because you think somehow you’ll be the exception to that rule… you’re self-hating

11:19 it sounds like "youre not like these other black women. Youre special. Youre so beautiful and delicate. Not like THEM"
In some way its giving even more racist connotation than saying he would not find black woman attractive... He is gonna break her heart and spirit for sure

Did that guy just call her an ‘African princess’

3:53 goddamn woman respect yourself and your skin

Mika didn't want to tell people her last name, didn't want to say where she was from, and spent half her time acting like her own background was classified information. She wanted the men to make assumptions that she was white rather than know the truth. A man says he can't imagine loving someone of your race and your response is "where do I register for gifts?" Oh, okay. The problem isn't just what was said. The problem is hearing it, processing it, and deciding it's actually fiancé material. That's a level of selective hearing that belongs in medical journals. The truly breathtaking part is hearing something like that and deciding you've found your soulmate

"When I heard her voice she sounded so sweet and I never thought of women of colour as sweet or even as people really."

So he told her “You are not my type “ and she thought “okay ONE more date !”
She must’ve been through hell in that country

for people who don't live in the Netherlands: we have a huge percentage of Indonesian and Suriname heritage because of the dutch colonies; Mieke IS Dutch. Racism and micro-aggressions are rampant here. "Wait I thought you were Dutch," just shows how much coloured people are disregarded as fully dutch around here. Insane.

Well for what it's worth, I hope it works out for your sake girl because damn😬 if somebody told me that they SPECIFICALLY don't date ppl who look like me then they won't be hearing from me again but hey, that's just me I guess🤷‍♀️

Roel is handsome, fit, tall, respectful, and kind. Yasmine is prejudiced, sorry

Ahh the Dutch... I lived there for 12 years, that "voice sounded different" (meaning her Dutch accent is sooo normal for a black person) and "African Princess" comment, Ive heard them often😬😬😬.

I need Mika to stand up 😭 there are so many men out there attracted to black women. She does not need to marry the guy who says he isn't into them. Im black and first guy who ever confessed to me was half white-half Chinese! Im sure the Netherlands is dealing with their own racial dynamics considering it's a more racially homogeneous country, but I promise you have options, queen!!

Episode 1 left me speechless when the guy spoke about his racial preference. I thought when people sign on to the show they may ask them are they open to dating different ethic groups different from them. I have not watched episode 2 yet.

The one guy really comes off as if he’s never spent any time with a non-white person. I can see him being like “I never really knew any women of colour, I had this expectation for them, but she is so different”.

Yikes all of these men are such pieces of work

My thing is … why cast people who care this much about looks and race? Like your odds of getting your “preference” is incredibly low. This is why so many people break up literally since season 1

I cannot believe she got engaged to a man that said he doesn’t want to fall for a full black woman. That’s wild af
