Alan Clarke on piano deserved a mention here, phenomenal pianist especially towards the end with the overhead shot, his fingers are all over that keyboard, great analysis guys.

After 40 years (I am 60 now), I still listened to Dire Straits. Can't bring myself to watch DS tribute band nowadays.

Spanish city was an amusement park in Whitley Bay, Cullercoats a "sea side" holiday town both just outside Newcastle, north east England.
Outside the former Spanish city some of the lyrics frim Tunnel of love are mosaiced in to the steps & plaza.

He has the arctic blue eyes, the growling at times baritone, headband due to the ol lighting back in the day because the heat from the lights caused the sweat to run into his eyes; said at times he was singing near blind, never gets old

Brothers In Arms from Dire Straits - Live 'On The Night' 1993 is one of the best performances IMO. Mark uses his Pensa guitar. The sound is spine chilling
Love your channel. Cheers from Mark V.
👍🎸🎸

Great reaction, you talk about the length of it.... I grew up with this band, inmation you hear the studio recordings always on the radio (short versions) and then you go to the live consert and then you hear this version of the track that you never heart before....

Welcome to your new musical love affair fellas! I hope you enjoy the same journey I've taken with DS/MK since 1978. The rabbit hole is deep.

Try Brothers in Arms and Private Investigations from On the Night if you want to see another side of them

You guys really need to immerse yourselves in the whole Alchemy concert, It is widely recognised as one of the best live performances from ANY band in the last 50 years, I wasn't lucky enough to be there, but I have the concert on DVD, and have lost count of how many times I have watched it, and it never gets old. Keep rocking and I look forward to seeing more of your reactions 😊

Mark Knopfler really isn't underrated lol. He is regularly on the best of lists. He's a remarkable songwriter, producer, performer and of course, guitarist. A virtuoso. So many songs tgat are next level. Great reaction.

The beginning of the song starts Roger's & Hammerstein's "Carousel Waltz" which Mark & I would have heard a lot during our childhoods. I have heard from other comments that they played it at Spanish City nightly

The Spanish City was a fun fair in Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England

I grew up in the 1970's with all the great bands from England. Dire Straits owned the '80's and their music, like us, has come down in time to show new generations of people how great those times were. I don't need to explain how amazing and talented the whole band were, this performance speaks for itself. What a legacy mark Knopfler has left for all music lovers. Greatness indeed.
