Imagine being a part of a “review channel” on YT, and having your channel colleague tell you they “highly suggest” not bothering with reviewing a certain film you had agreed to review because they thought you “wouldn’t appreciate” some “unpleasant subject matter”, including a suic!dal character,  some scenes where two kids re-enact the western movies they saw, and a pseudo-offensive “racist” joke told by a character, and so you don’t bother to watch it.

This movie was pretty much  my childhood. Excerpt I never killed anyone and I never took a shit on so much drug.

I think the fact that only one guy even watched the film reflects poorly on the production of this channel, not only was the retelling of the movie bad, so was the actual review. but I shouldn't really expect much from three Americans to comment anything decent on a piece of Irish media that a lot of Irish people appreciate, for its accurate setting and fleshed out characters, a story that addresses many taboo topics in ireland esp for the time. it is a good movie, you just didn't understand it. make videos that are worth watching and actually have something to say. I understand why your sub count is so low. 🤷‍♀

It really works on another level as an allegory for Ireland's 20th century struggle

You know Macabe almost won the Booker for novel, right?
Im guess this one went above your heads.

:face-orange-raised-eyebrow:

The only thing i liked about the movie, is that they included my favorite song "No One Knows" by Dion and the Belmonts.😊

I think you were overly negative and the people in this video who didn't watch should give it a chance.

It was a great movie .....beautiful .your comments are crass

Clueless

Really?  That critic is actually upset about the little "Tango with an Eskimo," song.  Uh, ...over the top politically correct shit.  He's saying it's "racist?". It kind of joke, about the cold isn't it? ... The whole movie, is referencing the 50s or the 60s, too.  It's realistic to the times. People have to take a little realism.  And, sure it's sad and a profound movie about someone's psyche; but that's the genius of it.  Sure, it was going to be a little wild; but sometimes people's psyches can be wild.  So, once again there's a lot of realism;  in the drama of this movie.  That's why they put ratings on a movie.  Many people are willing to tolerate the topic of the movie and some don't want to do that.  You can speak for yourself about if you personally like it or not, but these guys are no authority on an accurate fair evaluation of it.

It's not a comedy, not even a "dark" one. It's a brutally bleak movie.

Boohoo! Not all stories have happy endings. Just because a movie covers harsh subject matter doesn't mean it's bad, and black comedy is all about being dark. This is the same as saying horror movies are bad because they're scary...

Garbage review. Do better boys

Wow.... Clueless!
