Love this analysis too many videos that pretend to be an analysis just recap the plot but this actually has points to make in relation to separate philosophical ideas 🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🙏

Mr house is more competent more reasonable more respectable AND more caring than any modern leader i know of hes flawed but hes the only one with a functional society

First video of yours I have seen, great video. If the courier did do all DLCs they also have the additional support of Big MT and all the tech from the Sierra Madre which could be further used to let NV flourish.

One thing I like about House’s ending  is that his idea of progress comes at the consequence of time, they way he talks about sending mankind into the start would take hundreds of if not thousands of years it give the player the choice of what they see is good immediate change now or the long game of progress that the player and the people they interact with won’t get to see. Great analysis

People often ask questions like these without realizing that the answer is often both. We take good with the bad, I always went with the house ending because he is the only one promising progress. It’s the wasteland anything is better than what you’ve currently got but this guy is going to colonize new worlds, nobody else can promise you a new world.

Very good assessment of House. Nice one!

My personal take on House is that he can be both tyrant and visionary. The world that he wants to build is one that would make the Great War look like a blip in human history, but it's a world where House holds all the cards. A world that would be his to view through his robotic lense, yet, able to shake up occasionally.

There's a reason the developers attributed the snow globe analogy to him. If you help him, you are taking House at his word that he won't abuse the power you put in his hands. The ending slides literally tell you the kind of world House likes. "The streets were orderly, efficient, cold."

Great video

Showing some love for the video, I did house for my first play through and I am excited to see what happens in season 2!

This is well thought out. Allow me to put on my own philosopher's hat for a moment.

The true crux of your critique of House's system is the lack of human freedom. The problem becomes not with the argument but the current definition of freedom which basically breaks down to "I am able to pursue my desires as frequently as possible." I fervently reject this definition of freedom as did the Founder's of my nation. Because all it does is merely enslave you to your passions, wants, and desires. You throw off the shackles of responsibilities only to find yourself enchained in your own petty pursuits.

True liberty is the ability do the just and moral thing. America rebelled to pursue liberty. France rebelled to pursue freedom. One emerged from its revolution as an ordered and rising power. The other saw blood run through the streets only to be left in chaos. Thus, the question is not "Does Dr. House grant me license to pursue my lusts" but rather "Does Dr. House grant me space to do the right thing?"

You will be a slave. Choose your master well.

I think that after The House Always wins ending the NCR declared House an enemy of the state and prohibited trade and citizens from traveling to the Mojave. The strip in the trailers for Season 2 looks like it’s worse off than when we left it in the game.
House said he was going to use the NCR as a base for his economic development and new Industrial Revolution, but I don’t think any of that happened. I think either my theory or maybe the shady sands nuke forced the NCR to pull back hard and House’s plans fell through once again.

Aw yes shady sands being nuked before the events of FNV, yet it’s never mentioned from the NCR that happened. Also no it was not the missile you launch in lonesome road, that hits the highway supply line for the NCR.

That is a good videoessay, well done

If Fallout 4 taught us anything its that the Brotherhood is destined for evil.

I would only pick House if he let me keep the Brotherhood alive.

mr house is absolutely the best for long term stability who gaf if hes a dictator when he has never absused his power or has any interest to if he actually does the job well its good that hes a dictator cuz then nobody else can come in and destroy everything🤦‍♂️

Finally a reasonable take on House and his intent that doesn’t shit on him or otherwise strawman his views and manner of handling thing

Mr house is probably the best ending. They let people live there in harmony

My only experience with Fallout is FO4. Seeing this and many other documentaries dissecting FONV, I realized just how dumbed down the FO4 story is.
Appreciate the breakdown and explanation mate. In the end, this reinforces my belief that there is no perfect form of governance, only one that best appeals to the individual. If I were to find myself in the FONV universe, I'd actually find myself aligning with house, his way of ruling appeals most to me.

Did Mr. house  attack innocence or just tribals did he at least give them a chance to leave Vegas

Its always funny to me that NCR ending is considered good. Have people even played the game to have this take? NCR is way more malicious and evil than House
