I just had a random thoughtâŚwhat if we ourselves were also once an orphan at playcare and after we grew up we started working for the factory? Hear me out as to why I think this; during the segment in chapter 3 when catnap snatched off the gas mask, we go through a sequence of memories; most likely our own memories; as a result of the gas. We experience life in playcare during the hallucinations and it seems like we actually watched it through the eyes of a childâŚwe know the gas gives us hallucinations based on what we have experienced or what we fear (i.e the huggy wuggy segment) and since we know Jessica Newman herself was an orphan at playcare, is it too far fetched to assume that the player was also a orphan in playcare? I firmly believe that the a good chunk of the orphans knew or at least had an understanding of what was going on within the factory.
Iâm definitely convinced that Kid is the player now. From the voice I wouldnât be surprised if Kid was genuinely a kid, a teenager who grew up in Playcare (hence why Miss Delight knows him and why heâs so familiar with Home Sweet Home) and started working in shipping in his teens. That way heâs still a spry dude in his twenties during the game.
Theory: Player was a janitor who mainly had access to Playcare and The Game Station. Mommy and Miss Delight recognized us as a former employee. Being a Janitor could also explain the Survivor's Guilt hallucinations in Home Sweet Home, we were close to both the Orphans and Employees. However the further we went down, Doey nor any of the Safe Haven Toys made comments about us being a former employee. Also explains why Sawyer doesn't recognize us, he seems like the type of person to ignore janitors (no matter their clearance). Maybe in the weeks leading up to the Hour of Joy we gained clearance to be a Lab Janitor and this was how we discovered the experiments. Maybe Preston or Stella noticed our distraught and let us in on the plan to free the toys. The reason for our absence during the HoJ could be anything. (Cold feet, sick day, etc.)
I saw somewhere that the player might be an identical twin of another employee who wasn't there during the Hour of Joy, but took their own life cause of the guilt they suffered at the hands of Playtime Co. Instead of the twin receiving the letter, we did, thus beginning our decent. It'd make sense why some of the toys recognized us, and probably (not sure) explains why we learn things as we go further down. then again I COULD be completely wrong
I feel like the player is most likely rich or the kid. Rich is a bit unlikely since he would be quite old at the time. But we clearly don't know about the experiments otherwise we would've brought something to protect ourselves with us or not went there at all. Also we wouldn't need to be reading notes and watching tapes. The player being the kid makes sense maybe he was trying to find rich because in chapter 4 Harley asks if we were looking for someone important. If the kid grew up in playcare he would have the memories that explain the hallucinations when we're affected by the red smoke. But also we wouldn't be working high enough to know everything about the experiments. Although the problem is that we would've seen mommy, miss delight and catnap before and they never seemed to recognize us as a kid they used to take care of. And still if we grew up in daycare why weren't we in the hour of joy? If we lived our whole life in the factory we wouldn't really have any other place to be in while the hour of joy happened. But then again if rich did get the promotion and find out about all this stuff maybe he joined with P.W and the others who were helping with the hour of joy and he told the kid to not come to the factory that day. So it's quite likes we're the kid but we didn't necessarily grew up in daycare. The memories can be explained by him working in shipping so he obviously would've been to many places around the factory and would remember seeing the kids playing. That way mommy and miss delight would've also seen him. But also given all the guilt the player has it makes it more likely we're richđ so confusing
1:20 Thatâs why you use separate teams/cells to build the structure and another for other parts and covertly assemble the whole thing for these incriminating projects; they wonât know what it's for and thus it leads to plausible deniability.
I thought Rich was ChumChompkins because of how much he knew about the factory and how nice he was, and was willing to hurt those who were a threat to his friends. How concerned he was when he had to leave us. For "Kid," I thought that would be Giblet. Giblet is very against what is wrong. He sees it and quickly wants to get rid of it, even if it means he's all in with no plan. He is scary, but tries to help when he can, and knows he has limits.
2:43 âPlaytime Cokeâ also, itâs crazy to think that even if anyone else came, by now, thereâd be no danger, as all the hostile experiments remain down in the factory, too far down for any bystander or explorer to come across casually, so the player will be the only person to know of this, with 0 footage, unless we bring The Hour Of Joy tape back with us, everything will remain hidden.
I have a random theory! Both mommy and miss delight recognize us! And well what do they both have in common? They are often around kids and well both of them are not in the same district in the factory so how would the kids go from one place to the other? Perhaps someone would help transport them! Which is where I think the player would work! Their job would be to move the kids around from one place to another which would explain why we know the factory layout so well in the game and perhaps while dropping the kids off at different locations we would use the grab pack to move through place to place! But thatâs just my theory
tbh i think we were always gonna be anonymous for the sake of the game being more immersive, but they MIGHT change it now since theres sm theories & they can use that for lore/gameplay purpose
