Rob have you read the comic “Tygers” where John’s basically lifted all this backstory from? Would be cool to see you reference it a bit more (ie. Abin Sur using a ship comes directly from that story)

Geoff John's Green Lantern run is probably the best comic run in comics tbh

Dang, it's so obvious the Green Lantern corner of the DCU is Geoff Johns favorite to write about. What he did for this group of characters is generational. Even if you think his emotional spectrum magic system is overstuffed, it does get convoluted sometimes, but he cared A LOT.

The more I see Thall Sinestro's character design, I keep thinking about a tanned Alfred Pennyworth 🤣🤣🤣

man, this was the first graphic novel my mom got me when I was a kid in elementary school. Green Lantern was the first superhero I was introduced through a comic medium.
I have the copy of the book with Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern on the cover, i was crazy about this book and the green lantern mythos. The book is flat and the cover is a bit worn out but that shows love for the book. I lent it to all my friends to show them how great of a hero this guy was. To this day; the sinestro corps remain my favorite group of supervillains and Hal will always be my favorite lantern.

This was one of the first comic book issues I ever got for myself. I got it from a Scholastic book fair which my mom wasn’t thrilled about, but it got me into GL and have been a fan ever sense

Geoff really drew back to 1986 about the Five Inversions, because he knew his GL lore.

I think the biggest flaw in DC (and Marvel) is how connected each comic really is. Because the Green Lantern comics are connected to Superman and Batman you always have to do these power scaling things between heroes.

I hope someday we can get a Green Lantern comic that doesn't have to compete with the rest of DC. The Green Lantern mythos is so cool but the worst thing about it is that we know that Superman is out there and DC is so connected to Superman that Green Lantern will never be the main character even in their own comics.
