I want to see a gear breakdown from a guy in a long range recon unit

Makes sense why he carries 14 mags. Macv sog guys carried 20 plus magazines and 20 plus handgrenades. If you have no air support, your best chance of survival, is sheer firepower

He said just one pair of socks on a 3 to 7 day rotation? But he did carry foot powder.
My medic heart bleeds… Trench foot is a thing, friends!

Probably the most informative and relevant video I have ever seen for this era of warfare. Please keep this line of content coming.

27:15 rubbing a thin layer of a mix of baby shampoo and water on the inside of your eye pro will prevent them from fogging up. You gotta get the consistency right so just play with it but it does work. Learned this trick from some scuba friends

“Wag bags” aka bivouac bags for pooping. That’s what we called them in the marine corps.

Another thing that is extremely important that i personally use and got some of the other guys to use are these metal anti-nail work boot insoles, stepping on butterfly mines or any AP mine is still gonna hurt like bitch but might be the difference of losing your foot or just a toe.
Also higly reccomend using high/mid-cut boots, 99% of the time you're gonna be walking through rubble and craters. Nothing sucks more than running from a drone and rolling your ankle

Honestly curious how old this dude is. I’m not sure he was kidding or far off when he said he was just a kid

37:46 those vans MTE are amazing. I recently had a tumour taken out of my foot and as I became able to wear shoes again to get around. The only shoes I could stand to walk in for any period of time was my MTE’s. They have a nice wide toe box and really nice insoles. They’ve helped a lot this past few weeks!

37:55 The Vans MTE Gore-Tex boots are spectacular. I've been trying to spread the word about them. I have a winter pair as well that are lined with 3M insulation. Super grippy and dry. The tread pattern sheds mud very well.
