I also really hope that the movie earns enough to at least break even. I'm Filipino, so it's very fascinating to see a big Western animation studio that made up much of my childhood creating a feature film focused on my country and culture. If this becomes a success, it'll create an incentive for Dreamworks (+ other big studios) to tell more original and diverse stories from around the world. It might also ignite enough interest in Filipino-centred animation projects and give attention to our local creatives. Still, as much I'm looking forward to it, I don't think it'll be as big as Puss in Boots 2 or Spiderverse, but fingers crossed and praying that it'll still be enough to make a positive impact and be successful on its own merits.

Admittedly, one of my concerns is that with the socioeconomic state of my country (and the rest of the world, honestly), I wonder how much of a success it'll be in the Philippines itself. A film like this that celebrates our culture and even harkens back to nostalgic elements of my country might even be good for morale, we all need more positivity in our lives. Once again, I'm not expecting it to launch a Shrek-level franchise, but I hope it'll be enough to work for Dreamworks.

I really want to see this in cinemas! What really sets this apart from recent DreamWorks films is that this one is not a sequel or a book adaptation. Plus, the animation is straight fire!

The hook for Puss in Boots 2 was that mysterious, cool-looking, out-of-place wolf character. Forgotten Island has the adorable Raww who looks like he's from the 1990s.

Got to say thank you for being an open positive optimistic cartoon reviewer while also being respectful to the films and studios unlike some cartoon reviewer who act cynical, negative and criticize or have bias to one different studio than the other (e.g. DazzReviews, CellSpex, AniMat)

DreamWorks gave us another Dog Man for this movie 😆

I think the perfect song was chosen for the trailer. Sticks in your head and fits the theme and era. It's in my head right now.

"Don't. You... Forget-about-me... Don't, don't, don't, don't..."

a thing ive noticed is that the design for Raissa's wings is the exact same as the design for the memory-eating demon thing, and that they cling to her shoulders with little hands. It makes me think that maybe the demon will be a metaphor for the way the pressure to go to America that's being put on Raissa will diminish her childhood memories with Jo?

Sooo Daaammn Excited for Septembaahhhh!!

I have a feeling this could be a hit for dreamworks maybe not a billion dollar maker but something that can show why they’re one of the big studios. Considering this is a movie about friendships and adventure I could see groups of friends going to watch this together. I really hope this does well though

Filipinos are going to eat this up

This Anime like Animation and Goofy Humor,And The Concept Look So Cool.

Im So Happy to see New Intresting ideas hit the big screen instead of like live action remakes and stuff like that.

Hopefully this Movie is Good Cause the Trailers have me hyped.

There are still Sooo many Philippine Mythological themes which could be the core starting point for many a gamut of possible animated films! There's Bi-ag ni Lam-ang-- an Ilocano folklore..Adventures of Pedro Penduko,..Adventures with the Underworld with Tikbalangs, Manananggals, Dwarves, Nuno sa Punso, TikTik, Kapre, etc.
Also Folklores from Luzon..Visayas to Mindanao!! Sooo many themes still to be seen &  felt!--- for the world to see!

HOLLYWOOD MOVIE BASED IN THE PHILIPPINES!!!

Sophia from katseye will be working on the soundtrack

It had like a full 5 mi ute standing ovation from the "animation films" fest version of Cannes film festival.

I'll say it: Disney should've leaned into Filipino influences for "Hexed"; Hailee has some Filipino ancestry and the original director of the film was Filipina. While people would pit it and "Forgotten Island" against each other, they're completely different in concept. Since Fawn Veerasunthorn seems to be a rising star at Disney right now, hopefully she pitches a Thai film in the future (and PLEASE be a musical).

I just can’t wait to see How their Story Unfolds!

With the first trailer, I was a little apprehensive about it but seeing the second one, I really would like to go see it in theaters! Also, I really like the Peter Griffin, death post that they threw in there😂

Great, more exposure (long overdue) for Filipino singing talents, the most underrated in the world.

I'm excited for this movie. I have hopes it will be an enjoyable experience. I'm gonna go see the movie on probably opening day with my little brother for his birthday. I saw it and showed him and he's also optimistic that this will be a good movie that isn't a 'turn your brain off' kind of film.
We don't want to get our hopes up to high, but were going to see it and support a new movie.
Me and him are done with a lot of the remakes and sequels. They're not all nessarey bad. As that is pretty subjective, even with them being a predictable to what a films quality is depending on many factors. But this new movie feels so amazing. I hope it's not just good editing from the trailers.
