The overdue rise of McNulty. He was junior world champ and bronze in U23-- he was always able to push the watts; he just needed a supportive team.

If anyone had said going in that an American would win I would have told them it was a real long shot. But he, Matteo, and Quinn played a perfect tactical race. Cheers Brandon!!

A very likeable and humble guy. Wishing you all the best from Slovakia.

Like Vallieres last year, victory favors the brave. Both completely unexpected, both took the race by the horns at the critical moment.
McNulty is the real deal and a natural step to WC when you look at his capability.  One of the best WC races, all the talent just going all out.
Deserved champion in a race that had no gifts.

Brandon McNulty was brilliant in this World Championship winning ride. The best man WON!

Great breakdown CD!

Great video, much needed.

Well deserved!

Great career summary.  A super super domestique.  Great rider.  Great U.S. team.

Pretty amazing result. I am in awe of Tadej Pogacar’s dominance and never wish for anyone to be injured but his absence has led to some very interesting competitions. I have to say Brandon does look like a 56-year-old car salesman not a top road cyclist but his palmares are impressive.

Beautiful summary of a stellar career and a deserved win. I'm glad the rainbow jersey is with such a good rider and humble person.

I started watching the TDF in the early eighties. As an American recreational cyclist, I cheered for LeMond, Phinney, & Hampsten. I’ve watched all the cycling races I could. I couldn’t be more proud of the American team. It was kinda funny watching the big three play the others like they did!

I went to Montreal for the week. What an amazing venue for  the races.

so deserved. top bloke. top Team mate.

Very good information about the new World Road Cycling Champion Brandon 🏆 I didn't know he won the prestigious Giro di Sicilia in 2019 a race previously won by Italian Champion Nibali 😀

東京オリンピックでも活躍したぜ

Mr Critical Himself would be so proud.

I never would have thought Brandon would have that kind of power. He pulled it off—brilliant. Even though I’m from Slovakia and enjoyed watching Sagan win three times in a row, I was absolutely blown away by Brandon yesterday. He deserves it—awesome.

Each time I watch the finish, I'm struck by how in the last few 100 meters, after the 8th or 9th look behind him, he decides he better give it one last effort.  He stands briefly and is immediately returned to his saddle by his aching legs.  So he punches his bars a few times instead.  🙂

I was amazed that everyone was predicting Quinn Simmons being the American hope for the best place. Brandon has always been a better rider by a million miles. The only reason for Quinn being the USA national champion for the last  year is? Niether Matteo, or Brandon were in the race. I look forward to the return of Neilson Powless. Ashlin Barry will soon be riding with Wout, Sepp, Matteo, Bruno, Victor, Davide P., Matthew B. and Jonas.
