19 April 1945. Shermans approached Kakazu Ridge while Japanese antitank crews waited inside concealed limestone positions. The tanks appeared to carry ordinary 75mm guns, but one false barrel concealed a weapon built to reach the caves from far beyond portable-flamethrower range.

📊 Inside this documentary:
Why Okinawa’s cave defenses survived conventional bombardment
How the POA-CWS-H1 replaced the Sherman’s 75mm cannon
Why thickened gasoline could reach approximately 150 yards
How gun tanks and infantry protected the specialized Shermans
What Japanese prisoners reported about armored flamethrowers
Why the weapon succeeded as a system rather than a solitary tank

This video is a dramatized retelling of documented events; where the record does not preserve a name or a line of dialogue, it has been reconstructed. Weapons, units, dates and outcomes are historical.
