At twenty-five past eight in the morning, one SS officer in one Tiger destroyed more British armour than any single man in the history of tank warfare. This documentary is not about him. It is about what the survivors of his regiment did to his battalion before the sun went down, and about a twenty-three-year-old lieutenant who built a plan on a haberdasher's counter and finished the day standing on a Tiger's engine deck with a jerrican of petrol in his hand.

This documentary tells the story of the Battle of Villers-Bocage on the 13th of June 1944, the ambush that gutted the 4th County of London Yeomanry, the Sharpshooters, and the counter-trap set inside the town that same afternoon. It reveals how Lieutenant Bill Cotton and four men, with a Firefly under an eave and a six-pounder hidden behind a wall of runner beans, stopped three Tigers dead in a Norman street and burned them where they stood.

Discover the full timeline of the longest day in the town, from the morning massacre on the road to Point 213, to the market-square trap, to the clock still striking over an empty town at midnight.
