I found when using 75ohm cable and a 60-70foot circumference loop that a 3/10 winding worked best, that bumped the ratio to 1/11 or 75/825 ohm. It gave me better performance, along with adding a 1m Ohm to bleed the loop of static and pair of inverse diode on the coax side to kill any voltages that could be introduced from nearby transmitting antenna.

I drill tiny holes on the lowest part of my plastic enclosures. It gives the moisture an exit route. I have had homemade preamps outside for several years and they are always dry

I'd fill it Don't skimp on the silicone by good products! OSI is made by QUAD. Pricey but worth every penny. Had water in band new coax last year.. never again. cheers and 73

So this gets the impedance down. What is the nature of the signal from the loop on the ground? (Balanced or unbalanced?) If balanced does this also convert it to unbalanced?

Regarding the ferrite binocular.
I have a BN-73-202,
I need to make a 1:1 balun with this binocular ferrite to make a loop antenna, and I don't know what diameter in mm of enamelled copper wire to buy.
I need to winding it 4x4 times (primary and secondary).
I would appreciate any information.
