Outer worlds 2 is literally just a rehash of outer ones 1 story. It’s stupid because the only thing you can do to get a decent ending is compromise with the shitty corpo faction and the math cult one.
Also the most interesting faction the protectorate has no meaningful interactions whatsoever. You can’t join them or help them.
The Earth Directorate doesn’t seem to matter either.
I have to agree with the point being made at 10:50. When a small game like Blackshard lets me jump hundreds of meters down instead of taking the stairs then why is this not possible in a modern 70€ game?!?
It just has no identity at all. NV has the iconic 40/50s aesthetic, Western dark cowboy setting with a slight futuristic feel in the Mojave, the completely fleshed out and cool factions NCR, Legion & House (Not even mentioning the great sub factions), the grim undertone of bleak seriousness but lined with the slightly odd comedic Fallout tone. They nailed all of these aspects. The characters are all cool too, House, Caesar, Vulpes, Joshua Graham, Ulysses, various NCR guys, some bums in the towns, BOS hideout, iconic monsters and vaults.
The problem is that the corporate/anti-corporate conflict wasn't very good. Part of writing interesting story is if not giving both sides a point at least making both sides competent enemies.
