Here's the Reddit link where it was first discovered (to my knowledge: https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/1wrvtvj/new_hidden_vampire_counts_item/?share_id=CoPusS4jM_WnguU6zLly0&utm_content=1&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

Also it seems someone was able to get the full power version, not sure if they accomplished it legitimately or used console commands or some nonsense to charge it up.

But the max effects APPEAR to be:
Turn Any Region the Character Ends In to Undead Climate
Spell Intensity +100%
Battle Healing Cap +300%
Vampiric Corruption (Local Province) +70

Kind of feels like a lot of the Treasure maps in the Vampire coast could be changed to do this sort of thing cuz those are super underwhelming right now

You know this is important because his hair indicates that this video was an emergency broadcast

btw you can also get the follower by fusing 2 valuable scraps that how I got it.

I hope they do that more, its fun not knowing about everything that’s been added

modders can see in the code any secrets like this. for example, did u know if u finished ur short victory as nakai and clan pestilens is still alive, u get a secret dilemma to send an army back to lustria?

If they do one  or two of these "hidden questlines" per big patch, that would be a lot of fun!

Now that's is one hell of an Easter egg to add! I wonder if they'll try and more little "hidden quests" like this one.

I always watch your videos to the end, but I'll make an exception with this one and call it at the 3 minute mark. Knowing what follower to look out for is enough information for me. And honestly, I would've probably never bothered to equip a follower like that if I didn't know there was something special about it.

As always, thank you for everything you do! You make Warhammer a joy to engage with!

Theory: what if the version that spawns when you finish the landmark is actually supposed to be the fully upgraded version and the  weaker ones are not present in the game (which is why the item doesn't upgrade)?

This mechanic is amazing, I hope CA does it more!!!!!

Mannfred with all 9 Books of Nagash, the Sword of Khaine, Nemesis Crown, and now this new item would be an insane and likely unstoppable combo!

Such is the power of W'soran!

Items that the Vermin lords come with also appear to be Enchanted items but fill different slots (Punch Dagger is a weapon for example)

That really makes me want them to re-take a look at exploration as a side mechanic and have certain factions get more out adventuring to find items , bonus and events .

Like I would love them to have another crack at ruin exploration now that you can legitimatly find ruins because of destructive faction around the world , have more unique event triggered like in the early days of Warhammer 2 (tho not as "guess what it is going to do" with absolutly no idea/indication on what the result would be) .

Instead of having map riddles for vampire coast , ancient ones puzzles in ruins , more diversity : treasure maps/leads as equipable items/followers that can be equipped on heroes and then have to bring them around the world for dilemma and stuff . With certain factions benefiting more like Vampire Coast (maybe one day a light rework) , Markus Wulfhart could benefit from a more exploratory mechanic instead of being 100% expansionist and colonizing Lustria and I wish that Malus had an actual questline that made more sense to get the receipe of the Elixir taking him around to find scrolls and relics for Malekith not just take 10 provinces (god that quest is awfull) .

I really wish they expand on it more as a side mechanic for more narrative driven campaign , or letting the player find unique items and buffs by following those trails instead of just always being capture X settlement , beat x faction .

That's very cool! The novelty aspect will only work once, though.

Nice crest brother!

Some of the new Skaven items also have the incorrect icons. The one I recall is the punch-dagger that seems to come with the Warbringer Verminlord: it has the icon of an enchanted item, but it fills the weapon slot.

Hm, I wonder if this event quest can also be done by other factions and lets say: Chaos factions get Necrodomo's Liber Caelestior, Dwarfs get a book of schematics penned by Morgrim, Empire gets Valten's prophecy or Volan's personal Grimorie, Greenskins get Skarsnik's biography, Cathay gets Shen-Zu's personal journal, etc.

So secret that even CA didn't know about it. Pretty cool tho. It's a small quest on its own.
