Fantastic use of windage and elevation... Top Marks...! I know many, and I'm sure we all know many, who cannot shoot so accurately using modern cartridge rifles. Thank you for the time and effort with putting this video together and providing us with useful info...I'm now sold on the Baker Rifle...
This is certainly a breath of fresh air considering how many people I see on a daily basis brag about how far they think their rifle can shoot to and how easy it would be.
Great Shooting. I have been shooting patched round balls from muzzle loading rifles sense 1975. Round balls have their limitations at long range. I have always believed that It has to do with the decrease in velocity and the slowing of the ball's rotation. People who claim amazing group size at 300 plus yards are not always honest. The reason for your success is your honesty. Those are the same results I have gotten with my custom .50 cal. Flintlock Long Rifle.
The scientific approach you take to these shoots shows clearly the advantages and disadvantages of a (reproduction) 200 year old weapon in the hands of a skilled marksman. These presentations never cease to fascinate. Thank you Rob.
Great shooting! Since my new range opened up to 500M's I have a new appreciation for anything over even 200M practical shooting. Even with a 3.4x Elcan 4-500 is pretty tough.
Chosen Man?!" Thank you for the vid. Ive been curious about the baker since that show. Tv is tv and he was usually making cqb shots anyway, but it's nice to the myths dispelled.
Nice shooting! These videos are always awesome! Really makes you understand why volley fire was so often used, and the rule of thumb for battle tactics.
Another excellent video ! I always enjoy your films they are interesting and very informative. I am currently getting to grips with a Lyman Trade Rifle in .54 cal. It's a flintlock and I enjoy it immensely. All the best from Scotland
