Peter Bergen is a print, podcast, and television journalist, producer, think tank executive, professor, and the author or editor of eleven books, three of which were New York Times bestsellers. Peter is best known for his work on national security and counterterrorism.

In 1997, while working as a producer for CNN, Bergen traveled to an undisclosed location in Afghanistan and produced Osama bin Laden’s first television interview, in which he declared war against the United States for the first time to a Western audience. Bergen has been called the world's leading expert on bin Laden.

Bergen's latest book "All the Presidents' Wars: Twenty-Five Years of America's War on Terror" releases September 8, 2026.
