It actually gets better the more times that you listen to it, and the better you know it.

The object is to listen to it over and over.... eventually you not only understand it but anticipate the next note/sounds/lyric meanwhile you still are hearing NEW things in it even after the 100th... 200th listen....

Jethro Tull in concert was absolutely amazing.

The complexity and skill of the playing is unmatched.

Jethro Tull is legendary. No other group compares!

1972 was a banner year for PROG rock: Jethro Tull Thick, Genesis Foxtrot, Yes Close To the Edge, Gentle Giant Octopus, and more. ALL deserve serious listening.

Yes Ian Anderson sings and plays the flute. But that is also him on the acoustic guitar.

This was from an era when listening to a record album was a true experience. Similar to watching a movie, but better.

Listening to this took me back to 1972, my final year at High School and my final year living at home. That school was Ashfield Boys High, the same school the brothers from ACDC had just left. I had been going out for over a year with the girl that became my first wife, was riding my first Motorbike. What a momentous time and what fabulous music we had back then!!

Why Jethro Tull is not in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame is one of the great mysteries of all time.

The old saying, "Before ProTools, you had Pros." Singers needed to sing in tune without pitch correction, and musicians needed to play in time without a click track or audio editing.

The other thing about the album was the LP was a full 16 page paper that they made up all the stories for

I've been listening to this for over 50 years, and it never ceases to amaze me.

It always takes me to a good place, in a lot of different senses.

Believe it or not, Jethro Tull was THIS TIGHT LIVE every time, too.
Another great band that can never be mistaken for anyone else. By the end of the first stanza hearing a Tull song, you know who you're listening to.

You’ll listen to it again. Trust me. You will.

It’s puzzling to me, and a sad indictment of the American music industry, to watch you marvel at music that used to be played on the radio for everybody to hear. I was listening to Jethro Tull when I was 12 years old. I received this album as a Christmas gift from my parents when in high school. I never thought much of it at the time. I just put it next to my Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath albums.

We just accepted the music as it was presented. We did not question it, and we did not expect to understand all of it in one sitting. It is not expected for you to listen to it for the first time and understand it in one go.

One of the monuments of what would become known as Progressive Rock. A work of unique magnificence.
A desert island album.
One of my all-time favorites.

You get to love every change the more you listen. I wasn’t sure when I first heard this masterpiece but over the years I’ve learned to love every beat, every note, every time change, every nuance. You can hear this in its entirety, together with TAAB 2 performed Live in Iceland recorded in 2014 on DVD. There are excerpts on You Tube. Ian, for the first time, had a support vocalist (Ryan O’Donnell) on stage, as his voice could no longer manage the high passages.
