VAMPIRE (1979)

A quiet town becomes the hunting ground for a mysterious and terrifying predator. When a series of strange deaths begins to unfold, suspicion falls on an enigmatic man whose arrival seems to coincide with the growing nightmare.

But this is no ordinary killer.

As the investigation draws closer to the truth, the line between the living and the dead begins to disappear—and a centuries-old evil threatens to claim another victim.

Starring Richard Lynch, Vampire delivers a dark blend of supernatural horror, mystery, and classic vampire lore.

This is a great 1970's movie. Theres something about these 1970's movies that I really dig. Throw back to my formative years I guess. I remember watching "chiller theater" out of Pittsburgh, Pa. (Bill Cardille). late Saturday nights with my older sister. She would always let me stay up really late and watch the scary movie with her. Thanks for posting this dracula gem.

I remember listening to E.G. Marshall in CBS Mystery Theater on the radio in the 70's. Great voice!

Glad to see you posting. Our Denver community access channel that used to show horror films on saturdays does not show them every weekend lately :(

Your dissertation on the very nature of good and evil, just goes to show the old adage true; " Just because you're rotting on the outside doesn't mean you're rotten on the inside too.'' 💀

That was a pretty good movie. Wish it was a series. Almost reminds me of Dark Shadows. I really wish Dark Shadows would be like the current soap operas today.

5:19 un-consecrated ground. Should have been the first warning.

remember this from years ago when it re-aired during a horror marathon. It was a pretty good movie, felt like a crime drama for most of its length. Its pacing didn’t pick up until the last 30 minutes.

The scene where he discovered his wife in the coffin is the most disturbing because we were never really given closure on her death. She just popped up in an abandoned building they were searching. The vampire Aton was really torturing and playing with them for most of the story.

Absolutely loved this film . Unfortunately it's such a long time ago now , but was begging for a sequel . So he runs into the dark , but boy oh boy if I was him I'd be draining the country dry . 🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛 I read Richard Lynchs biography, man he suffered for his art , fabulous film . Maybe there could be a 47 years later part 2 from David North Norfolk coast East Anglia England 🇬🇧🎸🤘 🙈🙉🙊 thankyou for posting . 🙏🌎

Well done, but vampires didn't need coffins. They needed boxes of their native earth. Also, Soker's originals weren't afraid of sun light. That was later with the German film NOSFERATU.

I'm trying to understand the origins of this vampire, Who he was, and where he came from!! And what his motive was!! Richard Lynch was a great vampire!!
