I am 63 and I would watch The Night Stalker with my mother when I was younger in the 70's. It was one of my fav' shows and hasn't lost it's appeal, I still love it! Thank you for the series here on YouTube!😊

The problem with re-making a Nightstalker series is that there can never be another actor that can fill Darren McGavin's shoes in the role. The one time they tried, they failed miserably.

Me and my older sister shared a bedroom back in the 70s, and we would sneak to our bedroom door and crack it open, so we could watch this show through the crack. This show and The Trilogy of Terror, with that Lil Tiki doll with the sharp speer stabbing Karen Black. It scared the hell out of us, and we loved it!!!!😂😂😂❤❤🎉🎉

Nostalgic television that satisfies like comfort food.

I'm 65 and used to love this series in the 70',s. We had so many good TV shows and movies. All they have now is total crap.

In my opinion THE NIGHT STALKER is the best modern vampire movie made for television and perhaps even including theater films.
Darren McGavin IS Kolchak and no one will ever be able to eclipse his performance.

So Frank Burns wound up doing post-mortems in Vegas. Sounds about right. 😂

My dad was a student attending college 100 miles from our home after retiring from the Air Force. He had 3 roommates who were all Vietnam combat veterans. Two were Marines. All were tough guys who had seen some stuff. They watched this movie together, and my dad described how freaked out they all were. LOL! So, a year later, when it aired again, the hype was real for me, and it did not disappoint. It scared the hell out of me.

Night Stalker and Night Strangler were the two greatest made-for-tv movies ever made. They were a landmark television event. It doesn't get any better than this. Pure entertainment.

The Night Stalker is a true classic. I first saw it when I was 15 years old in 1972, and it truly scared the wits out of me. Originally broadcast on American network ABC as a TV movie, I've seen several versions on YouTube in recent years. The restoration on this one is the best of any of them. It's crystal clear, and looks like it was filmed yesterday. The Night Stalker is indeed proof that you don't need loads of gore and four letter words to make a scary and effective vampire film. In addition, it was made long before vampires became a cliche and outright joke for young adult movie fodder.

still a GOOD show in March 2026............

Watch this twice, yesterday and tonight. Not only Darren McGavin knocked it out of the park, but there was a great supporting cast with Ralph Meeker, Simone Oakland, Claude Akins, Carol Lynley, Elisha Cook Jr and Larry Linville. The dialogue and back and forth was top notch. I remember watching this on TV back in 1972 as a ten year old with my Mom and older brother.

Nice digital transfer ! This show was television ahead of its time. The few episodes that remain show superlative storylines and direction.

"Janos Skorzeny"... hands down one of the most kick-arse "vampires" to ever make an appearance in Hollywood.
The way he handled all those police officers...he took that title "immortal" to a whole new level.
