SHERLOCK HOLMES IN NEW YORK. That’s the name of this film. Release Date: October 18, 1976. Dr. John Watson: Played by Patrick Macnee. Professor Moriarty: Played by John Huston. Irene Adler: Played by Charlotte Rampling. The film was directed by Boris Sagal. The screenplay (teleplay) and dialogues were written by Alvin Sapinsley, based on the original characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The film was scored by Richard Rodney Bennett.
There! I did it. I was annoyed by the absence of credits. Hence, added a few.

Never knew Rodger Moore played Sherlock Homes

The opening scene alone showcases Roger Moore's true acting chops beyond James Bond movies...

I never knew Roger Moore played Sherlock Holmes, great find. My favorite James Bond films was with him, at 62 his films were the ones I grew up with as a boy and youth. Lovely actor. And man I'm sure.

It seems that cutting off titles is a widespread trend on many movie channels. They must consider that the ignorant viewers who watch them won't have the slightest interest in knowing the name of the director, the composer of the soundtrack, the screenwriter, the cinematographer, the actors, or even the title of the film. By the way, the title of this film is Sherlock Holmes in New York, and it stars Roger Moore as Sherlock Holmes, Patrick Macnee as Dr. John Watson, John Huston as Professor Moriarty, and Charlotte Rampling. It was directed by Boris Sagal in 1976.

Elegant little film. Quite entertaining indeed. It's always nice to see films made before things went South.

Great film! Steed as Watson gave brilliant light relief. Removing the iron bars was a bit of a stretch, but hey! It's Holmes. A ripping yarn! As an old romantic the ending is so sad! 👌🏻

Lovely film, I had never seen it before. It was great, I really love the colours and the obvious fun the actors had making it.🤗

This was well done. A solid Holmes, Moore was first class. What catches my eye is Macnee. He just couldn't dumb down his screen charisma to evoke a Nigel Bruce level Dr. Watson. It's so subtle, but if you've seen Bruce Holmes, you'll understand.

So glad I got to see this. I am impressed with Roger Moore’s diversity in acting . I never thought James Bond could pull off being an Italian magician. Very good movie.
