I was genuinely worried the twist was going to be that the French rapper released a much worse album later where he tries to continue the story of Trinity.

The whole lore about the TRINITY album was so interesting, I almost forgot what the video was about

The worst part of all this is that NEW STORIES aren't allowed to flourish or blossom and are canceled faster than they are picked up. Never being able to have their stories conclude

Grey's Anatomy is the worst offender in my opinion. My God, I swear we'd be in year 2055 and we'll be in season 57 of that show 😭

Always admired Fleabag's creator for ending the story when she did, despite massive success and pressure to continue.

The fact that you mentioned SO MANY reboots I never even heard about really tells you how uninteresting they all were.

The Good Place! The good place deserves a spot on the list of well-told, self-contained stories. One of my favourite shows of all time.

I remember watching an interview with Tom Ellis, and he said that the biggest difference between UK and US shows is the mentality. In the US, you always give the audience more. In the UK, you always leave them wanting more.

You know, a huge reason why Breaking Bad is considered by many to be the greatest TV show of all time is because it ended when it was supposed to. Vince Gilligan didn't drag it out. He ended the story the best way he could, he made one movie to show the conclusion of one of the main characters, and he made a prequal/sequel TV show to perfectly wrap up the entire universe. Nothing more. Just absolute perfection.

I would add Derry Girls to the list of recommended shows. It's only three seasons, it's funny, smart and cozy with great acting.

Grays anatomy is the king of “how is this still on?” It’s never ending.

22:09 supernatural's original intended ending was a perfect conclusion and there was no way in hell they were ever gonna get a bigger villain than the devil!

This video touches on what made K-Dramas one of my favourite genres of TV. Traditionally, most K-Dramas would fall around 16 episodes (some 18, some 20, but mostly 16). And they were always 1 season and done. It didn't matter how popular, how good, how intense, I knew watching it that once that final episode was done, there would be no more. Sure there's downsides to forcing most stories into a 16 episode format, but you knew after that last episode, the drama was solidified. If it ended abruptly, that's it. If it ended amazingly, that's it.
It allowed for a level of immersion that Western TVs multi season format didn't. I could jump into a world, knowing I would be kicked out before I got bored of it.
So even when an amazing show like Vagabond left us on a massive cliffhanger, begging for a definitive end that would never come, I could live with it, knowing that's probably how the creator intended it.

And then, Netflix started making K Dramas...then I started to notice something weird: K-Dramas with completed stories would suddenly have an extra scene or 2 when they hint heavily at an extension of the current story, or a new mystery. It's like they started adding those scenes "just in case" the show gets popular enough, so they can have an excuse to make another season. Yeah, very quickly I could feel my skin crawl once I noticed the pattern and realised what was going on.

And lo-and-behold, some of the most popular K-Dramas on Netflix got sequels: Squid Game, Kingdom, Stranger. Strong Girl Bong-Soon, an all-time cult classic, suddenly got a spin-off on Netflix.
And now my fears are coming true more, a lot more dramas have been renewed : All of Us Are Dead, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, to name 2 of my faves.

I am so disheartened. While I enjoyed some of the sequels (I enjoyed Stranger, 100% recommend), some sequel seasons I just plain refused to watch, cos THEY DIDN'T NEED A SEQUEL. The last thing I need is this becoming a common pattern in the K-Drama industry as well, leading to tons of over drawn, or unfinished stories like the ones that litter Hollywood graveyard. How long before they start rebooting all time K -Drama classics? My gosh. I am mortified

Edit: I originally wrote Weightlifting Fairy instead of Strong Girl Bong-Soon, sleepyhead mistakes ㅋㅋㅋ.

Mike Flanagan is a great example of a director/story teller who knows how to not drag things out past their expiration date

His Dark Materials wasn't cancelled. It adapted the original books completely.

Bojack horseman told it's complete story. It felt so planned and well done.

For me, "Scrubs" ended when JD walked down the corridors of the hospital, encountering previous characters, while Peter Gabriel's heartwarming "Book of Love" played. For many, the post script season never existed.

I cannot believe supernatural has 15 seasons it's almost as if they were in a war with abc and shonda rhimes.

Over The Garden Wall is an incredible animated mini series with an absolutely stacked cast and beautiful art style
