There's something with a very special meaning in the credits scene.
Throughout all of chapter 6, Arthur always told john to never look back, no matter what.
John however, blinded by anger and revenge, "looks back" and goes after Micah.
In the one credits scene with Agent Ross and another Agent, you can see them checking up on Micah and finding him shot to death on the ground.
Micah was most likely promised to not get arrested, hanged or in any sense die by the Pinkertons, since he gave the Pinkertons vital information on where Dutch is.
And seeing as he was literally a member of the gang, the Pinkertons kept him safe to get more and more information on Dutch.
BUT, now that their most valuable source of information is gone, the Pinkertons search for John (also shown in the credit scenes).
A gang member who they know is still alive and thriving near the area because of all the attention he brought to himself.
Last thing we see is the two Pinkertons, Ross and the other one, staring down at his ranch, knowing that they have found their man.
"Vengeance is an idiot's game." "I want you, to not look back" Arthur was right.
I if you donated $20 to the Quincy Harris Memorial Hall (a shelter for homeless veterans) in Saint Denis as Arthur, his name will appear on a plaque outside the front entrance. John will even comment on it!
The Epilogue is fking PEAK! People always bypass it and restart the game just because they don’t wanna deal with the farming and house building and the domestication of John Marston, when literally this is what Arthur fought for.
"Same as you, I suppose."
Dutch planned to kill him as well lmao
