I cant believe people have a go at you, you are so open and honest with your content, its all about doing your homework Lee, great content, hope you sold a few cars over the weekend

Great video. You are doing a big favour to the general public by producing incredible content like this. Thank you.

Ran my own business for 25 years before I retired 5 years ago, never bought new vehicles always used best way to go I even made a profit on some of them. Good video Lee, keep up the good work 👍

When I needed a van for my work, I always looked for a scruffy recent one as looks were unimportant for me. Bought a just four year old VW Transporter with a handful of small bangs and scrapes and a damaged exhaust. It was £1500+ vat, 52k miles and full service history. I ran every last bit of life out of it towards 300k miles. When the old girl finally gave up a bearing, I sold it for £600…
My fear with newer vans is the cost of on-going maintenance on finicky systems.
Great presentation Lee, thanks.

Totally agree, i purchased a 2005 royal mail van in 2010 at auction for 1200quid plus vat. Put over 240k on it, sold it for750 quid in 2023 as i didnt need it. Perfect sense mate.

Come on Lee tell us what you’re up to with the van 😂

I just bought 2006 Toyota Hiace with 60,000 on the clock, owned since new by a charity, cost me £2500, I’m never letting her go!

Wow 80k on it  its just ran in you cant beat that for 5k what a van you wiĺ get yrs out of that its a no brainer go to the  auctions nice one Lee 🙂👍🔧✌

Four to five years old for commercial vehicles seem to be the “sweet spot” when crunching the whole of life cost numbers. Buying new is really like buying a very expensive insurance policy. New vehicles might be viable for a mega company who need a fleet of them to have the same look, but I agree for a one-off bang for buck is best. My thoughts on the matter.

Great update like the numbers  good for ya delivery people

Just saved me 20k as was going to lease a boxer at 365 +vat for 4 yrs  and end up with nothing at the end Only trouble with auction is there very  close shop and staunchly maintain there links with the traders, and treat outsiders as Job stealers...just sayin
great info though

We buy 5 year old, 1 owner ex lease vans, we don’t care about mileage as they’ve been fully maintained, one of ours had literally just had a new engine and gearbox in it.

We are different, we run them until they die or are uneconomical to repair, but we do about 60k miles per year in each van

Usually we don’t pay more than £4K for a transit custom (our current fleet cost the lease company approximately £60k each new including customisation - ex AAH vans…..)

Hi Lee, Excellent vid as usual, I have a 2015 vw t5.1 brought with 16k miles on it just a few months before the 1st lockdown... boy was I lucky as there was no way 6 months later that I could of got a van fullstop never mind a low mileage one owner in super mint nick... there are still bargains to be had... same as most things in life... its only knowledge and a bit of luck and you are away... I went on to do a full camper conversion on mine... I could of sold it 5 times over for 45k at the height of covid... yes I could of made a mint... but I just couldn't replace it with a base vehicle...as everyone was on that caper... did I do the right thing... who knows... but as you always say... peaks and troughs.... the main thing is... I am itching to see what the new venture is... will you tell us sometime...???? Keep up the excellent content... Yoki...

That fiesta is sweet. I drove mine from Glasgow to Barcelona for a family holiday in 2015. They are epic. Someone’s going to be happy.

Old BT van bought my first house. Used it to do my part time job out the back of, best thing I've ever bought in my life.

Food for thought indeed 🤔That's a nice looking red fiesta you have there too.

Loved this video, like the rest of your content.
We, a year ago, bought a 72 plate LWB Sprinter for a fraction of the cost of a new one. The large majority of our fleet is new as some are leased and some are purchased. That just works for us.
Leadtimes and cost on the LWB were the driving factors as we wanted a 6 seat crew van. We simple bought a LWB, spoke to a conversion company, and within a week had the van out working. It's 3 years old in October and just over 34k.
Got plenty of life left in it...
Once the business is finished with it, it might make a great camper conversion 😊😊😊

Keep up the good content!

Great Content Dude - Thankyou 😎

I allways buy new only because  iam so fussy about service and condition.  If it's new i know what's been done from day one allso I keep my vans as long as thay go . So currently own a 5 year old vw caddy probably still have it in 15 20 years  currently my other car 14 years no plans on changing
