Finca For Sale in Malacatos, Ecuador

An easy hour south of Loja, Ecuador, lies the town of Malacatos. Today, I go there to meet up with Darwin to check out a property for sale. We kiil some time at a Panela factory, a processor of sugarcane to produce the popular local sweetener. And from there, we go to the Finca, a rural property with several crops, trees, a small home and a spectacular view!

Wow…thanks! I am from Iowa, a farm state in the USA so I absolutely loved your video! If only I was younger! I hope someone buys it and nurtures it!

Seeing the panela factory brought back childhood memories. I grew up drinking agua de panela both ways. Sometimes cold with lime and steaming hot in the evening. The views at the finca in Malacatos were absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing, and I’m already looking forward to the next video

Hi there! I have to say, I absolutely love your videos. The farm, filled with such diverse vegetation, is truly captivating. Those incredible views are downright inspiring. I know it’s a massive project, but I genuinely believe it will be worth every penny in the end. Take care and stay safe!

Growing up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I cherish vivid memories of my uncle's stand where he sold refreshing Agua de Panela. I haven't tasted it since my childhood, and just thinking about it fills me with nostalgic joy. His farm is a stunning retreat—truly a haven for anyone passionate about farming and nature. Living in Ecuador, life is genuinely wonderful. Thank you for sharing!

Fincas are great. The fruit you get is wonderful to give away to neighbors and friends. When the Mangos come in, they're amazing. Plus Zapote or Mamey comes in for a few months! There's too many to eat on your own. Everything you plant grows here. It's all about planning and maintenance. As a gringo, I can't do it as I'm not an expert. So having people who work for you that actually work is really important. But totally worth it when you have results.

Just watching all your videos as I don't know why I forgot about Ecuador and got focused on CR and Panama. Loving the thought of Ecuador now for not just a plan B but to move soon!

All my videos here in Ecuador are my opinion and what I think I know. Even if it was official, that's about as reliable as Ecuador gets! HA! The only things truly reliable here are nothing is reliable and corruption is everywhere (not always in a bad way).

It’s obvious someone really loved this property at one time. It would take effort to make it shine again but wow, what a place! Did you notice that was a poinsettia tree? In the north we think it’s just a small plant we see at Christmas but it is actually a tree !

Looks like it has good bones and seems not to be to far from a town. I bought a farm that was totally overgrown and with a lot of work made a sanctuary for me.

Hola Warren! The views of the mountains from Malacatos are gorgeous. The farm could be a good investment if the price is right and you are young enough to put the work.:fish-orange-wide-eyes: - Be happy and keep safe.

What are nosums? Also, eat the bamboo after cooked. It is delicious! I lived in Japan over 10 years where neighbors would bring cooked bamboo to me. Love the farm! If I was 20 years younger! Enjoy!
