Hi Warren! I hope you're enjoying some quality time with your family. I truly appreciated your video—so many insightful and helpful points. I'm eagerly looking forward to more content like this. Take care, my friend 😊

Warren once again another excellent and very informative video👍👍👍  Mr. Fierro is excellent. I have seen him on other videos.

Great info!

Great information. Thank you for this vídeo. I didn’t know you could do contributions voluntarily. I do plan one day go back to Ecuador when older.

The private health insurance option is the best way to access the level of healthcare you would expect in the US.  The caveat is if you arrive with a pre-existing condition you will face some kind of barrier for accessing that system.  For me there was a 2-year wait while paying premiums, and it wasn't inexpensive (and that on top of paying the IESS health insurance... think hospitalization).  The IESS system is struggling and it is not easy to land an appointment (speaking from experience in Cuenca).  I have not had any bad experiences with IESS healthcare service, but patience is key AND usually you won't find an english speaking doctor.  My comment after most doctor visits is 'that was a great spanish lesson.'

I bet this is a great video

You should do a video about town beaches retirements hubs that are consider safe for people to retire. Thanks

I do not think I will work for a retirement check in Ecuador I will be too old 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

You will get your CPP payments sent to your Canadian Bank by direct deposit next year, then you get your OAS at 65. I get that . I have a funny story to tell you. I applied for the free dental care from the federal government this May. I went to a dental care clinic, asked them for an appointment , and the secretary replied " There's a one year waiting list with or without the free dental care , and there is a lack of dentists." When I was in Colombia earlier this year I got an appointment in 12 hours.

Very interesting. I hadn't thought of Ecuador as a possibility for pension but will definitely look into this ..
I worked and saved for pension in my country of origin before I moved to Ireland, which means I have a Danish pension on top of my Irish BUT Denmark is almost impossible to get one's pension out from and sadly, I expect an Ecuadorian lawyervand I will have a legal battle with the country in order for me, to actually get my pension from there...they've already started to scream after me if I requesr just a few pension questiond hence I have tonthink if that...
An Ecuadorian pension would very much help and, I might pay some money into that....
Thanks very much for taking this up 👍😊👍

It’s time to stop casting doubt on the Canada Pension Plan. It’s been many, many years that legislation was enacted to ensure that it was managed properly, is fully funded and separated from general government revenues. It is easy to go online and see the details of how the funds are invested, how they’re performing. It’s clear to me, as a working Canadian, that every year the amount I contribute is substantial and clearly meant to create a reliable pension plan. In fact, I’m contributing almost half as much as I am to my military pension which will yield me much more income. Bottom line, stop worrying about CPP, it’s healthy and will be there for you.

You are supposed to report your earnings to Ecuador if you’re going to sign up for that and pay  based on earnings, if they ever decide to start auditing all these ex-pats paying the basic amount to get the public health plan which is the main benefit for paying into this then a lot of people could find Ecuador coming after them for a lot of owed money based on their income.

Watching the Spanish news about the IESS in Ecuador, you will find out that they don’t have even close to half of the amount of medicine Supply in the hospitals and often people can’t get the dialysis they need and some places the doctors can’t afford their gloves and people will report being charged for that or families will be sent out to go get medication and pay a lot out-of-pocket when they shouldn’t have to.

Private health insurance in Ecuador is a bit more expensive but from all the expats I’ve talked to there. It’s first rate and much better than if you’re paying for that and using it, you wouldn’t be taking advantage of Ecuador.

I believe the information on potentially being audited and being charged a lot of money in the future, came out of an article in the gringo post from Cuenca, also Don Shaider the grumpy old gringo made a fairly detailed video about this

I had a question and I checked the inter net which will always give you true facts 🤣  I was thinking from what was being said there was a question as to whether you would buy into the system or not.  The internet source says if you're a paid worker you will buy into the system but if you're self employed, you can choose whether to buy in and pay while you're working or not buy in and not pay.  They also say you can voluntarily buy into the system and I'm thinking that group can be people that earn no income at all.  I'm going to try posting what I found in my next comment.
