🏆 All too often medical care results in “one step forward and two steps back”. Respect for you for sharing your cautionary tale with all of us. 👏
Thank you for posting an update. I had a failed lapidus (also done by my podiatrist) and after getting tired of continued pain, non-union on X-ray after X-ray and 9 months of a $1500 bone growth stimulator and total nonweight bearing the whole time; I began my search for like cases and solutions. I’m so grateful that I found your videos last year!! They literally saved my foot. I was going to let him do a 2nd surgery, but after hearing your story I had a consult with an incredibly talented ortho that specializes in foot and ankle. I found out that my foot was also misaligned/on an angle and not sitting correctly. My big toe was also excessively shortened. 2nd surgery done by the ortho, old hardware taken out, extensive corrections made. 1 plate and 10 screws later, I’m finally completely healed. Although I’m not totally without pain, and I probably won’t ever be. I just want to thank you so very much for posting your story; for without you, I would also be 3 surgeries in. THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for sharing your journey, Lyn. You are a sweet person and you've helped so many people. I'm sorry that you went through all of this. I said a healing prayer for you and I wish you all the best! God bless you. 🙏🏻❤️
You poor thing. I had my surgery on 6th January 2022 at a private hospital by a specialist orthapedic Surgery paid for by the NHS. I got lucky...I ran/walked a 6 mile race on 1st May too. I hope you get well soon.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you for the update. It has helped with me going thru the same lapidus procedure and I am now coming to 8 weeks post op. I am starting on my first physio session to walk again but the pain has been excruciating. At the same time, more than a year has passed since you posted this and I wish you full recovery.
I had 3-D lapis surgery eight weeks ago. I wish I would’ve seen this ahead of time. Hopefully things will be working out for me. I don’t know, but I am so so so so sorry about everything that happened to you! I said prayers for you I pray that God helps you through this You are loved. I appreciate you for doing this. This is so hard.
I had my lapidus bunionectomy done by a well known podiatrist that was on "The Doctors" TV Show. My toes 2-4 have become raised and have become severe claw toes. It appears that the bunion has recurred to an extent, and it wasn't supposed to with this Lapidus Bunionectomy. That is the claim to fame with this surgery; the first metatarsal is fixed so the bunion does not recur. I have difficultly walking long distances and I can't walk my dogs anymore. I have a disabled parking placard for that reason. My nerve conduction test showed Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. I think there is some other kind of nerve damage as well. I agree with Lyn that a Podiatrist has limited knowledge, and I wish I had chosen a Orthopedic Surgeon. I am getting an MRI soon, and finding another surgeon- perhaps at UCLA. I will be looking at the Top Docs and Castle Connelly Doctors to find the best this time. Because the doctor is on a TV show means they have a good agent! You are a very lovely person, Lyn. I pray that your back surgery was successful and you are no longer in pain. God bless. ❤🙏
Im so very sorry about your journey with your foot, and then your back. I wish nothing but the best for you as you move forward past all of this. Take care and I hope you recover quickly.
Thank you for sharing your story! As someone who has also had three bunion surgeries, your feet look so good now! (Compared to what I saw in your other videos) I am so sorry that you’ve had such a rough journey and I hope you can regain your quality of life soon.
Lyn, thank you for posting your experience. I have a bunion that may need intervention in the future, and I didn’t realize the role of an orthopedic surgeon for this condition. So hats off to you for sharing this hard-won knowledge with your viewers.
So sorry to hear about your difficulties with your surgery. Thank you for the recovery videos - so informative and helpful. Really hard hear about the follow on dificulty with foot and then your spine - my sympathies. You were incredibly courageous facing up to further surgery given your experiences. All the best for the future - hope that your spine surgery will have taken care of the pain.
Sorry for your very bad experience! Just awful that a seemingly simple thing can cause such permanent damage! Hope you heal from your current surgery and are 100%
First of all, I appreciate your bravery to be able to speak on something that has obviously caused you alot of emotional stress and pain (no pun intended) I am searching for a doctor to operate on my bunion. I also need the TMT joint addressed also. I'm scared to death of getting my foot messed. I've had two opinions so far. But I have not seen an orthopedic surgeon. I think I'm going to do that before I make any commitments. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope you see this and respond back me. I just made an appointment today for the surgery on the 15th. I'm canceling. I'm really nervous about finding a capable surgeon
Thank you Thank you Thank you! I scheduled my surgery with the podiatrist without thinking and no second opinion. Tomorrow I’m calling the orthopedic office (we’ve used them for years) and getting advice from my shoulder surgeon and hand surgeon as to who they recommend in the practice and then scheduling with that doctor. I’ll cancel the podiatrist surgery. So very sorry for all you have gone through, nothing fair about any of it.
