It's not that we lost wars that we should be depressed.  It is because we waged them in the first place that should make us depressed.

Prof. Wolf is absolutely right on target. Sad state of affairs in all respects in our Government.  Nothing is going right but the Government continues to tell us how great everything is when it clearly isn’t. ☹️

Ignorance, arrogance, irresponsibility, unreliability, and incompetence will make any system fail.

Richard nailed it; politics is ugly, depressing and hopelessly corrupt.

It looks comical to name a warship after a person who intentionally avoided serving in the arm forces.

Wolfie is back on line and the sound of him brings the warmth to My heart ❤️. Thank you Glenn for satisfying our addiction to the best professors on this planet. Greetings from Poland and God bless you both ❤.

I don't know how Glenn gets so many amazing guests but my hats off to him.

Glenn Diesen is the best thing ever to happen to YouTube. Thank you!

One problem with America is that NOT having any "history" (250 years is nothing) they do not follow or understand what "history" will teach us. Consequently, they do not understand that fiat currencies have never lasted and it will be the same for the Dollar. "That will never happen" say the Americans with little understanding as the Dollar crashes in front of their eyes. Because America has held sway for a century does not mean that will continue "ad nauseam."

Like Britain, the U.S' so-called "wealth" came from looting resources of former European colonies

The US can’t pay its 40 T debt, so it messes up the world economy instead.

Prof Glenn Diesen doesn't speak much . But when it does it's short and to the point. Thank you I appreciate it.  And makes me feel better, because I thought the same thing and some people thinks I'm just a conspiracy theorist 😢

The situation on the U.S. Abraham Lincoln is a microcosm of what's going on inside America on a macrocosmic level

The majority of "Americans" who voted for this are unable to courageously suffer in silence, accept responsibility for their actions, and to try to undo the damage that their ill conceived vote caused, because for most part, they're still more concerned about one question,

WHAT'S FOR SUPPER?

The U.S. didn’t get in this mess in the last two years, it’s been decades in the making. Left and right governments have been on the same path of self distraction. They look after themselves and their rich friends.

A self inflicted decline that the US keeps making worse for itself.

I can listen to the professor all day! I wish we could have a class more often

Alienating allies may simply not be the best way to build empires…

Great discussion! Thanks Glenn and Richard.

“A spectacle of dysfunction.” Perfect!

Richard Wolff is a master at breaking down the structural contradictions of empire through accessible, hard-hitting economic realities.
What Wolff and Diesen are mapping out here is the exact machinery of systemic attrition. Mainstream commentary treats these global conflicts as isolated policy failures, but that misses the entire point. When an incumbent maritime order overextends its financial valves and energy chokepoints, the resulting friction doesn't just destabilize overseas supply lines, it cannibalizes domestic stability. The peacetime dividend is dead, and the architecture of global attrition is accelerating.
