Lets make cargo trading, and what we'll do is put the elevators in the exact place you dont want them, ship acces to the side? Put the elevators at each end? Ship load from the front or back, yeah elevators to the side, that'll mess them up.
Oh and be careful wher you use your tractor beam because "magic" stops it working in some places.

Stupid monthly patch bundles and ship sales, that's the only reason we get so many hasty patches. Quite surprised they didn't start with battlepasses already.

Its the little things like only being able to use the light switches only once then if you want them on again, reclaim the ship.
The pop up label that they love on everything is backwards and no where near the button clearly marked on the ship, they just dont give a f**k.
Like loading boxes into a cargo elevator amd all you can see is labels to the point where you cant see the boxes, using a ship meant to be designed gor doing that exact job.

Most missions are so frustrating with zero reason for doing it.
Full of things to just annoy you, map marker to the left but really you have to go to the right, ha ha very funny, who did that some kid like that Elliot?

My biggest issue with SC now is that everything seems pointless. At least for people who didn't invest a lot of money (and don't have a boatload of ships to choose from in their permanent hangar) or are not making content out of the game. There is no progression, there are still whipes coming, it takes forever to do something (when the missions work). So for the moment it is like a beautifull sandbox where we fly around, try to do stuff, log off and pass more time in comments and on spectrum then in the game.

43:05 it is already like that. Every feature is "T0" to never be iterated on ever again. It is more likely it will get a "rework" than T1. Even not all ships being released in gold standard. Another fun example: L.A.M.P. Anyone remember how smug and loud CIG was about adding it to the game? Few ships got it, like patch or 2 later few more ships got it, and that was it - reality of CIG and Star Citizen

I do not believe it's "50/50". Even if it is split evenly, he is counting ship development as SC which is the bulk of devs. Then you also have people who manage online services and respond to issues. So the devs actually working on bugs and features is less than 50 for sure. There's no way they have more than 50 devs working on the PU and its this bad and has basically no progress year to year.

1:58:30 I think the perception of bias around the Squadron event is that CIG seem to have intentionally only invited those that are in CIGs good books or do nothing to speak positively without criticism. Personally I think that's completely fair, why didn't they invite Astropub or Saltemike?

Using patches as a measure of progress has become a really difficult thing to do, given they've been reduced to crumbs of content and a rare feature once a year. Are things being added with every patch? Yes. Is there tangible progress, given the mammoth list of major features and tech in 1.0, measured against those crumb-scale patches? It's nothing but depressing. And then there's the lingering concern that S42 being released won't mean enough number of devs moving over to the PU, because of subsequent chapters.

Appreciate the clear-eyed and critical evaluation of the current standards we are being made to accept with the management, priorities and decisions of this project.

They need to do something about the stability... it's actually allmost impossible to get a friend into the game, even when i offer a starter pack since for every single one of them i tried to make play this game, they had enormous amount of stupid problems that made the game "unplayable" for someone that usually plays "normal" games.

So someone arrives at the flashy, high 'production' RSI site. They are welcomed by the banner "Forge a life among the stars in a limitless MMO universe!". So the player gets into the 'Verse and the first impressions are stunning. It is beautiful. It is impressive. However, then the bugs start and the frustrations begin. The player turns to Spectrum for answers only to find one of the most toxic forums on the web, where they are informed over and over again, "ITS AN ALPHA" by a crowd of obnoxious trolls. With no recourse, no voice and no reward for their investment in time and money, they give up and find something else. I have watched this story play out over and over again. Every one is a 'successful' sale for CIG though...or is it?

regarding the staff - 10% is ships team, 20% is server/networking/basic engine - so we got 10-15% devs on sc and 55-60% on sq42 ^^

I feel like they should have made a "vertical slice" of SC, that has all of the features, and can be played with 5-10 people, just to prove out and refine all of the gameplay mechanisms and designs.

Ships with in depth engineering, crews, components, crafting, salvaging. Gameplay loops for everything.

Then rolled out this MMO shinanigans, and the giant planets, which together seem to have created impossible complexity.
