Pursuit Perfect System

In this video I am reviewing the new for 2024 QUAD 33 Preamplifier and Quad 303 Power amplifier in stereo and bridged mono which of course makes the review more interesting.
The QUAD 303 is a preamplifier with a built in MM and MC phonostage and with classic QUAD tone controls that I really appreciated.
The QUAD 303 is a stereo class A/B power amplifier still with the famous triples of transistors so true to the original design.

I did nearly all my listening testing and comparison with the new Wharfedale Super Linton speakers that pair up extremely well - review here Wharfedale SUPER LINTON Speakers how MUCH ...

Thanks for watching my review video, I did have a few production issues here. I had a new shirt on that was rustling, I am sorry about that. Also the new version of my video editing software has some audio glitches which are not ideal. I apologise for that too. Hope you still enjoyed the video.

I don't need them but they look so cool that I want them.

Great review and it’s so refreshing to hear a Hi-Fi reviewer promoting the use of tone controls. People will spend thousands, swapping kit endlessly to tailor their preferred sound, when a tone control can do it instantly, for free, and gives you flexibility for different source material too. When you think about the gigantic variables between different ears, speakers and rooms, it’s quite frankly insane that tone controls became unfashionable in the first place. Quads decision to give you tone controls on the remote is icing on the cake.

Waiting QUAD 33 & 303 mono block sound demo with Wharfedale Super Linton😍

I had the original set back in the 70s as a teenager.
A bit expensive for me, but my mom knew the guy who imported them. So, I got a nice 40% discount.
I then built my own speakers with a brilliant full tone unit in a transmission line cabinet.
I've honestly never heard anything with a better sound.

IAG Currently have a 33 Unit of Mine in For Service. It Is Such an Amazing Timeless Amplifier That i Have Never had Any Desire To Upgrade, let Alone Replace it.. Although i Have Bought A Second Hand 33/303 Unit For The Man Cave. Having heard The "New" 33/303 i Can Highly Recommend it To Anyone In The Market For a Great Sounding Amplifier Set Up.. Nice Review By The Way.

I’d rate this your “best” — easy to relate to from end user’s POV! Thanks

It was my first separates pre/power set-up, bought a second one and a crossover and ran my (self-built) speakers active (that was in 1978)

Fantastic review of the new Quads! Real shame that the remote wasn’t aluminium.
Love your style of reviews 👍
Actually looking at Super Lintons to pair with the Quads.
Subscribed.
Cheers

My first serious stereo was Quad 99 pre-909 stereo power (140wpc) and cdp-2. It was excellent for the money. Could enjoy music a lot and it is now a 2nd. hand bargain. Love Quad.😊

I have memories of Quad amps in my very early teens. My friend's dad was 'loaded' so there were lots of nice things at his house. Despite now being at the other end of my time here and having had a recent hearing test carried out (with pleasing results), I've taken the plunge and bought the 33 and two 303s to replace a NAD c300. These are connected to a two-year-old Technics 1210GR & Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Arcam CD5 CD/SACD Deck, a 1989 Technics RS TR-555 Cassette tape deck, Wiim Ultra (for streaming from a QNAP Server) and a 1990 pair of Mordaunt Short MS 3.40s. The intention is to replace the MSs with Super Lintons but the improvement so far is so vast, I'll get used to it for a couple of months before having the open-wallet surgery carried out.
But, as I'm impatient, the two months will probably be two weeks :)
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

I loved the originals. My son is still using them.

Damn good reviews Sir!

Very nice review, thank you, (and a nice shirt). In the 80sI ran my old CD player through a QED volume pot box in to a Quad 306. To me it sounded slow and laid back, and as I was young and full of vinegar I swapped it for something punchy. Nowadays, slow and laid back is much more appealing :)

The Super Lintons are amazing, especially driven by the Naim XS3. Even a Uniti Atom will drop your jaws.

Nice review , it always is on this channel, but......a YouTube college of you just reviewed this Quad trio and i think a lot of followers of your channel also watch this British Audio guy.
There is so many interesting stuff on the market. It would nice maybe if you Youtube guys make some agreements.
I can remember that every audio channel i watched it was Denafrips Denafrips.
