We Brits enjoy 'piss take' humour, satire, parody, all those. It's a sign of affection! It's often delivered with a sly wink, and not meant to be taken absolutely literally.

You didn't know who he was and your first viewing of him happened to be his most intense and legendary presentation. I'm glad I got to watch that.

Ricky Gervais was in a new wave band in the 80's called "Seona Dancing" and you can see their music videos on youtube then he left the industry and worked for an office job for a long time and that was his inspiration for writing the original version of "The Office". They can't say nothing to this guy because he lived as a pop singer then regular life then a comedian unlike those people in that room who only knew Hollywood.

I wish more people caught the best part of the Epstein joke: “you had to make your own way here on your own plane, didn’t ya?”

"he writes a little bit" - lol what an understatement :D he created and wrote the whole original office series together with Stephen Merchant and then co produced the american adaption and casted Steve Carrell himself. He also wrote and stars in "After Life" which is a super funny show as well.
Great reaction, definetly do more Ricky and Shane GIllis pls :)

"What's his name?" That would be a small time actor who goes by the name Brad Pitt.

The "license plate was made by Felicity Huffman" joke was a bit of a Hollywood insider joke. She was caught bribing college officials to let in her daughter and a bunch of her friends' kids. IT was a huge scandal that much of the audience was involved in (cuz Hollywood is corrupt and their kids are morons). She went to jail, hence making license plates, which is a task for inmates while incarcerated.

Sorry for the long winded explanation.

Definitely do more Ricky!
The Office and Extras are masterpieces. Derek and After Life are also great, as is his standup.
There’s 25 years of gold to discover, my new friend. 🥂
