One of the most difficult parts of bridge battles is the rebuilding and capturing of them. The general goal is to somehow push over and secure the other side of a bridge completely, and then hold onto that other side while construction workers push up. The huge problem often is, while their rebuilding the bridge, reinforcements usually are cut off and the other side can easily push forward. Then attack the bridge to prevent you from rebuilding. But once it’s rebuilt, your side can finally begin a mass assault over it. And bring armor forward. One strategy idea I have is use APC’s to ferry men across while the bridge is secure on the other side, and mortars to suppress enemy advances. While it’s being built, pontine bridges can also help in mean time.
