In France, Zenith, aside being the word for the upmost height of the Sun in the sky, is also the name of contemporanean concert/spectacles venues such as Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal or other spectacles needing heavy duty sound systems. In every big city, you have one.

Hello Charlie, this is a video made by the region to show film directors the natural settings of the region.  I think that the first images  01:15  to  02:25  are images of Franche Comté, the images of the  fir trees and the snow are images of the Jura massif.  03:45  The Hospices de Beaune with its Burgundy glazed tile roof: it is a former hospital of the city of Beaune in burgundy which dates from the 15th century. 03:56 The great forge of Buffon Burgundy, an 18th century forge.  04:45  Castle of the Clos de Vougeot; it is a wine estate in Burgundy. There are many very good vineyards in Burgundy. 05:48 Zenith is a performance hall.  06:50  Buddhist temple in Burgundy. I didn't see Belfort in the video.  I'm from the north of France so I can be wrong and I don't recognize everything. Maybe someone from the area could help us recognize the rest or correct me if I was wrong?  Thanks in advance!

The Franche Comté region is a cultural and historical region, and Burgundy is also a cultural and historical region, but they share common points in their past. The French regions were too small compared to the regions of other European countries. The enlargement of regions allows the state to be more efficient. To expand a region, the only solution is to combine two nearby regions. It is purely administrative; it does not change anything for the French. We still have our department and our original region. In the Franche Comté region, there are 4 departments: Haute Saône, Doubs, Jura, and Territoire de Belfort. Etobon is located in the north of Haute Saône and Franche Comté. In this department, there are the Vosges (mountain range) of the South in the northern part. Not knowing where your great-great-grandfather lived in Franche Comté, I first sent 2 videos of villages: Arbois and Baumes the gentlemen who are in the Jura department. Afterwards, I sent videos of the Vosges mountains which are closer to Etobon by distance

7:25 The Buddhist temple is the Paldenshangpa, to meditate in the heart of Burgundy...
In Himalayan style, the Paldenshangpa Buddhist temple of La Boulaye was founded in 1974 by a Tibetan lama. Raised on three levels, it houses gigantic statues of Buddhas and many brightly colored paintings.

Hi, The last picture is a quarry of Burgundy limestones. it has been used to build the village  Vezelay you see at 3:11 and its Basilic at 3:18 situated in the Yonne part of Burgundy. Vezelay is famous because it's a starting point for the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

Hey Charlie ,
To answer your question about the budhist/asian temple it's because in Alsace ( Eastern France ) there is a half French ( alsacian ) half Vietnamese man who descends from the  Vietnamese imperial dynasty whose latest prince  married with a French woman and gave birth to the bi - national man living in Alsace .

If you want to know the places and what Burgundy really is, you will have more explanation in this video about this beautiful region here:

https://youtu.be/F57IJH03RY0?si=rRWg2RL9t1h_zYOJ

Beautiful video by the French Tourism Office, and, to get some explanations on the region, you may want to complete it with this (commented, this time) excellent video: "Burgundy: Profoundly French" - Rick Steves' Europe

The term "region" in France can have several meanings, mainly "administrative" or 'historical". Historical and administrative regions are not always strictly identical because of time evolution. Concerning the historical regions, each indeed has its own history and therefore culture. You will find in each different architectures, artisanal/culinary/industrial/technologic specialties, different languages/accents/expressions (in addition to French), different traditions/legends/festivities, different music and arts, different sport, and so on...

recently, both regions have merged.

Hi Charlie, a beautiful region I don't know yet but I go there in May! Too bad the name of the places is not indicated. The colorful roofs are very well known in France are the 'Hospices de Beaune', the best known image but there are in several places.

Your pronunciation gets better every video, congrats !

What are they growing? In Burgundy? Vine!

Says "I don't know how to pronounce Franche-Comté" and pronounces it correctly!
They were both separate regions before the fusion in 2016.
The mountains with snow is the Jura, which borders Switzerland.
Vineyard, lots and lots of them in Burgundy.
Zenith are a type of Arenas, for concerts and sports. That's the one in Dijon.
We have some temples in France, they are very rare. Correct, that is Buddhist.

There is a place in France that looks like Colorado. If you're curious, just Google french Colorado.

Peut être Vézelay dans l Yonne.
Avallon et sa Tour de l Horloge à un moment....pas certaine, mais possible..

Hi, for your pronunciation in any language, you can listen to Google Translate saying it, it's really useful. Learning english here (from french) and I ue it everytime I hae a doubt on a pronunciation. You just put te sentence you want to know the translation/the pronunciation about in the good language and ask GT to pronunce them. Unfortunately for me, the GT english pronunciation seems to be in american english when I try to learn the british one (nearer from france and way easier to pronunce for me) but it's useful all the same!

Good reaction, too, love watching you react to France, it's always interesting and somewhat endearing, and that reminds me that my country is, indeed, beautiful, and makes me love it all the way more even if it goes down the drain politicaly T.T
