35 years ago we pushed over a dead oak like that near the banks of Brushy Creek West of Round Rock Texas to start a house build.  The roots brought up charcoal, flint chips and several arrow heads.  We mistakenly called the University of Texas Archeology department, and they filed for and received a stop work order from the county.  For almost a year they excavated and recorded their findings.  Amateurs would sneak in and dig too, so a chain link fence was put up on my lot with locked gate and 3 strands of razor wire on top.  This caused my company many thousands of dollars with co reimbursement ever offered.

I think seeing a tree that big die is heartbreaking.

This ancient oak stood for centuries in the village cemetery of Veliky Bokov, Belarus. Locals say it witnessed countless funerals, soaked in grief and silence. During a fierce summer storm, it finally fell, crushing graves and iron fences. During WWII, it even served as a landmark for Soviet troops. It lay fallen for months before specialists could remove it. That tree had over 500 years of memory — and now it's part of history.

Сколько горя и слёз, печали видело это дерево, когда хоронили людей. Сколько слез оно впитало в себя - только одному ему, этому дереву известно.
Но вот и ему, этому дереву, пришлось умереть.
У каждого свой срок.

I kept thinking that it was a home for owls or other animals. Is very sad. That's one hard working guy, and such cute dimples! And very sharp tools!

i too was waiting for a skeleton discovery- But... This was a great add for Still Chainsaws !!

I wish there was a follow up about thecoins…. What they are, how old, if valuable in terms of history, etc…

I don’t normally watch videos like this, but this is quite amazing. Just imagine how old this tree is. It has to be at least 400 years old maybe more it’s amazing how this planet works.

There are hand held gold, silver, copper, iron, etc readers that pawn dealers use to assess coin, jewelry, bars.  This machine reads grams, plus gold, silver, etc of an items.  Sometimes the items have to be cut open to see type of metal.   Than all is weighted and you will know the value of  each type,  gold, silver, copper, tin, etc.     I've seen items that most people have no idea the value of things to find out what they thought was a few hundred going for up to 10,000.

I'm in Benton, bill Arkansas.I like what stuff like this because I'll be 30 years ago.I used to cut down trees but I can't do it no more.I'm too old, so continue what you're doing.I like watching thank you , and god bless.🤔

• Penny: Signifies simply that you visited and paid your respects.
• Nickel: Indicates that you and the deceased trained together in boot camp.
• Dime: Signifies that you served together in the military.
• Quarter: Communicates the heavy message that you were physically present when the service member died.

watching this vid I am struck by what a miracle it is to see such a huge tree that, over time, created such incredible mass from air, water, & minerals!

I was and still am in awe at the size of this tree. So amazing!

Why is this one of the coolest damn things? Great find, great video, and great work. Cheers from the USA. Oh, and don’t forget to try and metal detect the root ball! That is where my best finds have come from. In the old days, people sat under these trees to cool off. Coins fall out. The older the tree the older the coins. This old girl already gave up some of her secrets, but I believe she has more to tell🎉

My brother is a logger. My brother in law was a preacher at a small Baptist church on the Ohio River one of the oldest towns in our county.  A huge tree in church graveyard had root wadded. Largely doughty (rotten)  as this tree is. Local history tells this had been  hanging tree in the early 19 century. He begins to cut through a large limb. After a few seconds blood started splattering everywhere. Some watching  are alarmed. He wipes blood from his face and tells the panicked he has hit a nest of squirrels or such. It has happened before.
He went a 2-3 feet down the limb starts to cut through again. More blood splatters this time than the first!  He gets a bit rattled this point. When someone gathers his nerve to look a bird had built a nest in the rotten limb after the tree fell a black snake had crawled in to eat the bird eggs and gotten stuck!

Must be very strong and patient to do this work. Congrats . I saw the whole video. It was very interesting!

That's very dangerous work on an extremely old giant tree. My hats are off to you. I would have loved to see those coins cleaned up to reveal the dates.
Great job, guys.👍🏽

I cannot believe I sat and watched this whole video lol. It was actually very interesting 😊

> This is art! The way you clean the old wood is so satisfying. I do similar work with ancient teak root from Java, Indonesia. Keep it up!

You can tell they have so much respect for the tree. Taking this much time shows they are being incredibly careful with such a giant. It's a slow, deliberate, and respectful process.
