A few years myself and my wife were saw up a large oak trunk for firewood.
While cutting a slice I noticed fibers coming out with the chips.
Putting it through the splitter we came across a silk handkerchief in lovely condition.
Counting the rings it had been there since the 1830s so  we'd like to think a lady placed it there maybe for a loved one to find but was never found.
I still have the log and silk handkerchief trapped in the wood sitting on a shelf in my workshop

I keep looking at those huge slices and keep thinking to myself, "those would make for some very lovely tables"
Does anyone else agree?

Typically you would see a blue line in the wood if there is metal in it, so you guess either lead or stone of which I have cut my share of both in NY.
Also there comes a point when you have to say “the slab ain’t worth it! Get the axe!”

Yes. I believe that those beautiful pieces of lumber would make some lovely table tops. I wholeheartedly agree with you.

The tree must have been magnificent. The roots are so beautiful

It looks like three trees that grew together and trapped the rocks in between.

One of my property landmarks was a steel beam. We could not find it until we realized that a tree had grown over it and only the tip protruded from one side of the trunk

I’ve watched a lot of how to videos; but this is by far the hardest working duo (or trio, not sure how many) I’ve ever seen.

I was kinda hoping that it might have been a Diamond. You guys' worked so har, it should have been two Diamonds one for each of you. Good luck to you both.

Fabulous work you do.  Thanks for sharing it.  I would love to have seen the tree that stump was from!  What an amazing history it had.  Clearly older than our country. Amazing.

Два камня и ржавая железяка не такая уж и ШОКИРУЮЩАЯ находка. А за проделанную работу- респект.

It.  Truly.  Remarked.  What.  They.  Can.  Do I. Love.  Watching.  Them. And.  Seeing what.  They.  Make

Сам вид дерево необычный и такой огромный и загадочный. Как хорошо что есть такие видио потрясающие с загадкой и историей.  Спасибо всем  кто удивил

Such stunningly beautiful wood!! God is Great to give us such gorgeous building materials!
I must say the gentleman running and maintaining the saws is worth at least triple his weight in gold. His knowledge, skills, hard work, and determination are phenomenal! All these men are truly hard working, amazing men!! Real men doing real work is a joy to see!! ❤️🙏

Admire the tenacity of the workers and demonstration. Beautiful wood. But what did they find that was worth thousands of dollars???

He's great with a saw and determined beyond belief 😮

В Беларуси в местах где долго стояла линия фронта во время Второй Мировой войны деревья набиты осколками снарядов. До сих пор ломаются пилы на пилорамах от простого распила таких деревьев.
