Lana’s “National Anthem” video isn’t meant to fool anyone it’s mixing two pieces of history. The beginning references Marilyn Monroe singing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962. Then the story shifts, with Lana playing Jackie Kennedy and A$AP Rocky as JFK, showing their life together and his assassination in 1963. She’s combining the glamor of Marilyn and the tragedy of Jackie to tell a bigger story about love, loss, and the American dream if that makes sense. Hope this helps!
Lana is the definition of an alternative girl, she inspired Billie, Taylor, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo and many others, she is what everyone wants to be nowadays. The sadness Queen.
Summertime sadness is a song written for her friend who committed suicide. And Carmen is a metaphor for alcohol, when she was a teen she was extremely addicted to alcohol.
Not everything in her songs is taken that literal lmao. Like please look in between the lines, there’s an intention with every line. She’s just writing how her experiences were.
Lana Del Rey and A$AP Rocky collaborated on the songs "Summer Bummer" and "Groupie Love," both featured on Lana's album *Lust for Life*. However, there is an unreleased song by the two titled "Ridin'," which has been circulating on the internet. It's really good, but it was never officially released.
