Now that the original Ghostbusters are back on the big screen (after forty years and a failed reboot attempt) it’s time to revisit the classic movie that started it all.

The original Ghostbusters definitely raises some questions. Like why didn’t the guys take their ghostly evidence somewhere else instead of starting a ghostbusting business? Why did they get a secretary before having any clients? Whatever happened to that library ghost?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to Ghostbusters!

I’m glad we are getting a Pitch Meeting for an older movie instead of a recent release. It has been a while. I hope we get Pitch Meetings like these more often.

"A demonic fridge-dog says Zuul"

10/10, perfect way to retell that part of the story

"Getting to customize the apocalypse is nice."

"It is a pretty cool feature!"

“Busting makes me feel good” is easily the best lyric of all time

"And Venkman gets the girl."
"So the drugs wore off?"
"Yessss...."

“What was that last part?” Was probably my favorite joke so far hahaha

That “me too” joke was so clever I had to watch it a second time to get it

Getting 3 pitch meetings 3 weeks in a row when we’re only supposed to get 1 every 2 weeks is tight!

I saw Ghostbusters 10 times during the summer of 1984, and only now have I been made to realize how weird it was that Venkman was carrying around 300 cc's of a powerful sedative on him when he went on his date

@RCassinello 2 years ago

Somewhere in the original pitch for Ghostbusters someone said "There's these nerds who drive around in a hearse catching ghosts".

"I did notice that happens a lot in this town."
"METOO"
Ah, the layers....

"So he tranquilizes her with 300cc's of thorazine"
"Why would he bring that on a date?"
"heyshutup"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just to point out - Gozer says to CHOOSE the form of the destructor. Venkman doesn't choose Hoover - just offers it as a hypothetical. Ray then says he deliberately tried to CHOOSE Stay Puft because it was something that could never harm them (not realizing he would show up as big as he did).
