The Earth Dictator versus the Fire Princess.

Welcome to the Versus Series. In this episode, we're gearing up for a battle of the prodigies as we compare the legendary feats of Azula and Kuvira. Now, while most fans think this would be pretty one-sided in either direction; in my opinion, it's actually one of the closest matchups we've ever seen in this franchise.

You might personally think that Kuvira can't handle the heat, or maybe your assumption is that Azula's the one who's walking into a metalbending smackdown. Regardless of which way you lean, though, I promise you'll learn a ton in this video as we attempt to figure out... who would win.

"Who Would Win is Back"!
I feel if Azula was the same age/had the same years of experience, then the fight would truly be for the ages

If we saw an animated version of Azula VS Kuvira, I would die happy.

Yooo, first Fanalysis returns and now this? We are so back.

i would pick azula as she was still 14 or 15 when she performed these feats so who knows how much more stronger she will be in her prime both bending wise and just raw athletics ,kuvira was in her mid twenties when she performed those feats.(not to mention azula got the ability to basically fly and get away whenever loosing)

I love the way you do versus battles. If this were someone else, they'd be calculating exactly how powerful Azula's flames are, and use pixel measurements to find out how fast Kuvira's metal sheets are moving. I also like that you don't give a definitive winner, you give how many times out of ten they'd win

I remember marathoning your VS series in college, glad to see it come back!

Nice video! Love how your reasoning is “it might be who you think, but not for the reasons you think.” Very informative & entertaining!

Would love videos about the book series.

“ Azula was born lucky, you were lucky to born “

I agree Azula would win. She’d overwhelm Kuvira. And sure Kuvira can stay calm under pressure it wouldn’t matter. Kuvira ain’t the type to match her opponent in strength and Azula is too relentless. If Kuvira could figure out a way to the Azula off her game there’s now way she’d win. A focused committed Azula is dern near impossible to beat. I do agree the lighting work do her any favors in this fight though.

I love the precision fighters like Unalaq. Kuvira. Azula. Jianzhu more than the large scale fighters

@EvergreenSystems23 1 year ago

Oh this is not a match up I'd ever considered, Azula vs a skilled metalbender

@Caerere 1 year ago

I disagree... minorly. I think this should be a 5/5 toss up. One of the strengths of Kuvira is how completely unfazeable she is, even when things are going wrong. In the finale, after she was forced to blow up her fiancee (it didn't work but I don't think she knows that), her giant mech gets breached and her superweapon is disabled. She does not break down or throw a tantrum, just instantly recognizes it is now more of a hindrance and throws it away. Then Korra busts in and Kuvira instantly switches into battle mode, never missing a beat. Azula on the other hand is an unstoppable machine, but when things start going wrong she does not handle that quite as well. Azula should indeed have an edge in the mid fight, but if it gets to a late fight, I'd see Azula getting frustrated with not being able to get the better of Kuvira, and start making mistakes, after which it would swiftly end with her getting caught in a metal sheet, so I think Kuvira should have a wider edge there, leading to a 50/50 toss up.

Out of curiosity someone proposed a fight between jet and asami and it caught my interest

@WiseRJ 1 year ago

I see Kuvira 5.5/10 but I see how others would think Azula.

@sophodava1993 1 year ago

I love how you analyze all the strengths and advantages that each character has.

@coreywigent7693 1 year ago

It seems like Azula has to be heavily nerfed in order for Kuvira to have a chance

@Nu_Gundam78 1 year ago (edited)

So cool! 🤩 And with excellent analysis as always. I love that you're not only examining the power behind each technique but the mentality and adaptability of the fighters as well.

I think you should take into account that the Dai Li did fight in a similar way that is Kuvira's win condition. They had stone hands they shot to restrain people. Azula was able to take control of the Dai Li and she would've definitely become familiar with their capabilities. Kuvira definitely has more prowess than them but, her metal bending style is just an exotic version of earth bending. I think her 1 shot win condition wouldn't give her much of an edge if any
