Was Caleb Flynn’s Mistress Next If He Chose Ashley?!
Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski: True Crime Today

Over eighteen months, Caleb Flynn and Alleigha Botner exchanged more than 107,000 text messages. What started as complaints about a marriage escalated to the point where “I want her dead” — talking about Ashley Flynn — became something neither of them flinched at. Botner testified under oath that she texted “I want to kill her.” The public is split on what that means. Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott gives Tony Brueski the answer — and a question the public debate hasn’t reached.
Scott joins the conversation with three problems to solve. First: how does a normal text thread mutate over eighteen months until casual references to wishing someone dead feel like ordinary venting? Scott traces the normalization — each escalation is small enough to absorb, and the cumulative effect is invisible from inside the conversation.
Second: the complicity debate. Was Botner pressuring Flynn to commit murder, or pressuring him for a divorce? The distinction matters. Scott says the answer depends on understanding Flynn’s psychology — a man whose need to protect his reputation made leaving look more dangerous to his image than his wife’s death.
Third — and this is where it turns: if Flynn had decided to recommit to Ashley, how much danger was his mistress in? Botner held eighteen months of texts containing his most incriminating thoughts. She was the only person alive who knew what he’d said. Scott explains why the person holding the secrets is always in a specific kind of jeopardy — and why the affair had reached a point where it was dangerous for both women, regardless of which direction Flynn chose.
Scott also identifies the behavioral marker that separates a dramatic, unstable affair from a lethal one.
