"Life form data successfully copied... SCUM."

At that exact moment, Cell was utterly cooked, lmao.

I like to Call "The Power Of Friendship" as "The power of multiple people jumping one person"

Metal: Does the Shin Kikoho, saying "Ki-Ko-Ho"
Meimi: HE'S DOING THE KAMEHAMEHA! 🫵
Lol, thanks for the vid, Meimi.

20:30 It's about at this point that Meimi actively calls how the fight's going to go down.

And that's such perfect foreshadowing to "Lifeform data successfully copied. SCUM."

I LOVE the chorus of What I'm Made Of kicking in at 24:32. The music really tells the story throughout, starting with Cell's theme and the techno style while he's ruling the fight, but once Metal copies Cell it kicks full guitars since that's the moment he won, it was just a matter of time.

4:19 The Kermit reference is actually a reference to the battle’s animator, DevilArtemis, who makes a ton of animated videos on his own channel featuring Cell and Kermit.

12:15 Fun fact, despite DB using the IDW comics as half of their main references for Metal Sonic, there’s only two references to the Archie Comics in the Bio. That being Breezie, an android disguised as a Mobian Hedgehog that first appeared in one of the 90s cartoons, and Metallix, where Metal Sonic commanded an army of clones of himself, collectively known as the “Brotherhood Of The Metallix.”

31:51 pretty much yes. Neo Metal Sonic has never been defeated in a 1v1 in any context.
The only times hes ever lost has been against a group of 3 or more opponents.

30:45 they're basically saying his entire existence was his biggest weakness

The thing about Dragon Ball is that, at its heart, it's a numbers game. Whoever has the higher power level in a given conflict is generally the winner, whether they had the higher level to begin with or they attain the higher lever from a power-up. When other series that don't follow this relatively straightforward formula get involved, then having the higher power  level is no longer necessarily the key to winning. There are instances when having the higher block of stats can give the Dragon Ball fighter the win, true, but bypassing them by specific abilities or hax is a typical path to victory to those from other settings.

As a rule of thumb metal does not loose 1v1 fights. You gotta bring your homies with you

This was definitely a STOMP but it was a fun Death Battle! I think despite some of these being unfair matchups, the priority is parallel themes between the fighters…? Sometimes it feels like that’s the case lol😅

An amazing send off for the animator Devil Artemis, and thanks for the reaction+thoughts🙏

Thanks for the fun react Meimi

In my EXTREMELY humble opinion… Metal was severely nerfed here for the sake of making it more even, and Metal Sonic would’ve been moving like how he was at the end of the animation except in base form

The super forms don't have a limits, there's been moments where Sonic been in Super form for multiple hours or days. As in the game Sonic Advance said the longest form he been in Super form was over a couple of days. But even if they were to lowball Metal and the super form. The longest form would be the max amount of rings which is 999 seconds which is kinda petty of them saying they can't hold it for like 30 seconds or whatever

26:20 - Marvel Tokon, the newest Marvel fighting game, has that as the premise funnily enough.

Such a visually impressive battle, thanks for the reaction Meimi!

17:19 The time limit is just a game mechanic.

In Unleashed, Super Sonic didn’t even have a time limit.

And in one of the Advanced games, he stayed Super for days.

If you watch the fight you will notice that after Metal copied Cell every last thing Metal did to him was to make fun of or trigger Cell hence the Tribeam when cell went "Dont you dare". That was a Team Four Star reference. When he hit Cell with the Tri-Beam and drove him back into his arena Cell nearly died and regenerated giving him access to Super Perfect Cell (Essentially SSJ 2). Then with the Kamehameha beam clash Metals Super form ran out but he was still using a copied SSJ form with the emeralds behind him and deliberately ATE the Kamehameha in order to nearly die and gain a power boost to attain his own SSJ 2 form WITH the ability to use the emeralds on their own (Something he cant do while in the Emerald Super form).

That's why the dialogue was important in this one.

"I know. Now I know EVERYTHING about you insect". When Metal copies someone he doesnt just take their skills. He also learns their past experiences, learns their strengths and their weaknesses. So he did literally know EVERYTHING about Cell. Thats why Metal is such a powerhouse and the only way in the Sonic cannon they can beat him is if he gets jumps cause he cant lose a 1 v 1 for the most part.

you weren't the only one who though that Cell looked like the guy from HxH. Cell vs Deadpool makes the same comparison too XD

1:30 To be specific, Cell liquifies the insides of his prey and slurps them up like many real world insects.
Yeah, Toriyama was a BIG fan of horror movies, Alien in particular, an he occasionally let the influence be quite obvious
