When I was younger I always thought he was just literally burying his mom but as I got older I realized it’s about him killing the power she had over him by putting his trauma and  anger to rest so he can move on with his life. It’s not as simple as bashing his mom, it’s about setting himself free from his past and cleaning the skeletons out of his closet. There’s always layers to his songs which is why you might get a different message every time you hear them

His mom used to give him drugs to keep him easier to manage (It's in the court documents) She had Munchausen syndrome and he was her victim of it.
Its where the person claims that they themselves or someone they care for is sick so they poison them to keep them sick so they can be the hero and "care for them"

He later adopted his own brother Nathan who got taken off her, and also adopted his niece (Kims sisters child) as their mother was addicted to meth (she later died of an overdose)
He also adopted his ex wifes child that she cheated on him to have, as she was also addicted to drugs at the time

Gotta listen to Headlights from many years later, he forgives her for what she did to him because he understands she was sick mentally

The baby just funny af eyeing bro on the left 💀😭😭

Eminem headlights is a MUST after watching this one.

Eminem produced this beat too

This shit made people understand him a little more. I remember being a fucking child and hearing this and just sensing his anger. I didnt understand it then but man. Not many really put it on the table for everyone

Watching zoomers discover Eminem is my fav past time

Eminem Headlights..
He wrote this for his mum after his overdose  about 10 years later

Eminem is incredible, songs that come from within, from the bottom of the soul

Em is top 5. The emotion he brings is next level.

This song saved my life. Exorcising the dysfunction. Cleaning Out My Closet. ❤️

Y’all gotta listen to Em’s old stuff like this. Lotta fans of his new stuff but the shit like this is the reason why people talk about him like one of the Goats. Anything off his first 3 albums is worth a listen

Thanks for the reaction. Everything Eminem raps about his family is real. Bianca H summed it all up better than I could. Eminem is a real one.

Fun Fact : That @eminem  's first line (Where's my snare?, I don't have snares on my headphones, oh there you go, yow, yow) from the Cleaning Out My Closet, is actually real and raw during the recording, that wasn't an accident or planned. They just thought it's kinda cool to put it and it actually works, making it one of the famous lines on his hit tracks.

Damn, the baby looks like he needs to be Cleanin' Out His Closet Looking like the oldest person in the room.

I remember when this came out. He is a true genius with words and music. Check out 8 Mike ending rap battles. He wrote all the parts for that. It's crazy

I'm almost 30 and I grew up in the metro Detroit area.
The fact that this was a radio hit 20 years ago still blows my mind.

What a good baby! He stayed quiet the entire time. Such a cutie pie. 😊

You can feel the pain in his voice.

His mum tried sueing him for 10m after this song that she lost...must have been truth to it ha.
He no longer performs this song and has since made up with his mum it seems. Headlights he apologises. Worth reacting to.

👌🏼

Greatest rapper to ever live
