IncT World reacts to Eminem’s “Cleaning Out My Closet,” and this one hit completely different once I started understanding the pain behind the record.
I came into the reaction expecting not to like it. I vaguely remembered the hook, never really cared for it, and honestly thought I might end up roasting the song.
Then the story started unfolding.
Between Eminem talking about his father leaving, his relationship with his mother, trying to break generational cycles for Hailie, his childhood, the protests surrounding his career, and everything chat was explaining about his real life, I started hearing the song from a completely different perspective.
The more context I got, the more I understood why this record was so personal.
Even if it still isn’t necessarily one of my favorite Eminem songs, I definitely understand the pain behind it now.
