"everyone is celebrating with their loved ones and he's like 'I deserve that too'". YES! Remember when Kip's bff told Scott "Kip deserves sunshine and so do you"? The reason why she said those exact words is because Jacob (Director & writer) wanted to use this song "I believe in anything" for their kiss. And the lyriccs are "give me your eyes, I need sunshine". Amazing storytelling. Everything serves a purpose.
What I’ve enjoyed the most about this show is seeing how many straight men are just watching it as a love story, that's it - it’s not about whether they’re gay or not and that means a lot for the community. Thank you for letting yourselves get carried away by the story and for expressing yourselves so freely. This series has made history because of that. I can’t wait for the season finale!
I truly don’t know which I enjoy more, watching Heated Rivalry or watching straight guys react to it. It’s deeply healing seeing these reactions. Thank you for making these videos
As a gay man I just appreciate you guys for taking the time to react to this heartfelt series and being so open and emotionally invested in these characters. It really warms my heart seeing the younger generation breaking with intolerance and prejudice. In the end, we all want or have the need to love. It’s a human necessity. Your interest helps spread acceptance. ♥️
You didn't call it out so I'm not sure you caught Svetlana's comment to Ilya after the fight with his brother - i.e. I hope Jane knows how lucky HE is. So another amazingly supportive friend that wants her BFF to be happy.
I know the lust scenes weren't that important but they were. Usually, queer or gay sex is shown behind a closed curtain, and it's just known that they had sex. But here on this show, the sex is portrayed differently; it's shown fully, and it changes as the relationship evolves and becomes more intimate. It's a liberating feeling to have gay sex or intimacy on screen, finally, as heterosexual sex would've been shown, instead of being behind a closed curtain. It's nice and refreshing.
04:25 As she explains a few moments later, she's had PLENTY of experience with dating guys who haven't fully realized their sexuality yet, so I don't think it was as glib as, "Shane can't perform with me so he must be gay." I think it was more, "This feels... familiar."
At this stage, it was too risky to come out. Ilya was in the US on a work visa. He could lose his job if he came out and it wasn’t well received by his team and the NHL. Losing his job means having to go back to Russia, but going back to Russia wouldn’t be an option after coming out. He really felt hopeless in this episode.
I have watched you boys since Queen Charlotte. But this is a whole other level. How you love these characters and your complete and utter lack of toxic masculinity is "representation " in and of itself. From a 50 something gay sports fan .....THANK YOU.....
