Thank you so much for sharing!! And thank you too for a past video where you shared that you were rejected from art school bc your work had "too much" pattern!! Yesterday, I opened up a set of Inktense Pencils to play with for the first time bc I was inspired by you using them + water brushes for less messy art supplies on the couch. It unlocked a memory of 8 yr old me loving to draw patterns, but seeing no one else at school making messy, bold, patterned art, and so I stopped and folded that urge away inside me all my life. Everyone "oohs" and "ahhs" over realistic drawings and paintings. I've never seen the same reaction to abstract art. I just want to say thank you for making yourself, your process, and your art visible here on the internet! Seeing someone else make this kind of art too is healing 💜

"Creative Compost" - I love that!

Thank you Helen, you and your art are so joyful

Always a JOY, always inspiring!

Always inspiring and instructive. Thank you Helen!❤

I started my first A3 size sketchbook recently. I’ve learnt quite a lot already, like I must leave some quiet spaces and not go too overboard with pattern. And, I must loosen up. All good to consider before trying a painting. It’s harder than one first thinks, but it is fun!

What amazing colours and style…….thank you Helen.  🖌🖍️✒️🎨❤️. Since watching your videos I’ve started using my sketchbooks differently.  Cheers for that.💐💐💐

This was such a wonderful journey through ideas! I loved it!

I wonder how many little shouts of Wahoooo there are when we find your latest video is out Helen ? Love this idea of a sketchbook being creative compost, as a gardener I love my compost heap because it gives so much back. Now I can look at my sketchbook pile as my studio compost heap 🤣. Thank you as always Helen , Wendy xx

I have to stop thinking of my sketchbooks as places for perfection.

Very inspiring, love watching your bubbly videos...keep them coming!

Your collages, shapes, line, and color choices delight my heart. Also, your conversation is helping me clarify my own mysterious art expression. By the way, I am loving the Martin Gayford book you mentioned in a video. Thank you for the effort and work you do to maintain your channel. I love it so much!

It always makes me so happy to wake up and find that you've posted a video I can enjoy with my morning coffee! Thank you! Today's video inspires me to get back to my sketchbook and remember that I don't have to have everything figured out before I start. P. S. I love your magical tree painting! ❤

I enjoy your perspective. I also enjoy your work.

Helen, I just love your color combos! So lovely with your unique shapes IMHO! Thanks for sharing!  :)

Love love love the colors, your thoughts and your processes. Even tho I am not doing paint, pen, ink right now (I am improv sewing) I hear you being inspired about your own works and it really cheers me up and keeps me EXCITED about creating! Thank you! Xoxo Monica 😊

ARE YOU MY GUARDIAN ANGEL?! If you peeped my Google searches for the past week, I've literally been asking "what is the point of art journals and making art if you're not selling it?" Every artistic tweak that you mentioned in your vid sounded like my own inner-dialogue. I'm an elementary art teacher and have finally gotten the courage to start selling my own art...in my own abstract, collage style. But, self-doubt had been seeping through. But when I watched, your video... your beautiful work, unique style and words of wisdom gave me wind beneath my wings. Listen to the universe when it sends you a message fellow creatives😊  THANK YOU SO MUCH Helen. You're videos are always so inspiring❤

I love this series! 🩵💝

Wonderful as always, Helen

Not only are your paintings delightful but so are you. You want to me work better. harder and more often to become a more thoughtful painter.  Thank you so much, Helen!
