RE: Air India....we need the full  CVR transcript. All of it. Once again, love both of your perspectives. You guys are great together.

I am a Canadian pilot but have both the US ATP and the Canadian ATR, Airline Transport Licence, I have been a Test/Pilot for the last 20 years but have since retired, I am currently 70 so I would imagine that I studied for my American licence most likely around the same period of time that Captain Steeeve received his licence and this degree of difficulty that he talks about is such a load, he knows as well as I do you get a bank of questions with the respective answers and you are told by the training institution or school that you will need to learn both the question and the answers then go write the exam, now from my point of view that was not a long drawn out arduous process, they give you what is on the test verbatim just learn the questions and the answers, after that you do a check-ride and you get a licence to fly a heavy aircraft in the Airline Category, in Canada it is very similar but what used to be a piece of paper but now is a booklet, most of the questions were quite questionable and you would never use after that. So the bottom line is this AirCanada pilot just avoided a lot of minutiae and got away with it, as Capt Steeeve indicated he did annual recurrent training with check-rides plus line checks along with all the other AirCanada exams so in terms of qualitative level he was a solid pilot and flew very well for a long time, so bottom line "Get over it" it's not crimes against humanity.

10:20 Id feel MUCH worse for the families if they came to the wrong conclusion just to meet a deadline. They must do their due diligence on this incident. Thank you both for a great report!

Thank you guys!

Real good discussion this time guys. Informational AND entertaining. Loved every second of it!!!

Many years ago, a group of us went to Gravelley Point which is right below the flight path immediately before the runway of DCA for the Fourth of July celebration. Someone had a radio where we could hear the communication between ATC and the pilots. There were thousands of people there and many had their own fireworks, including aerial ones, and they were launching them directly at the airplanes. We could here the pilots discussing the fact that they were getting hit by the fireworks. No law enforecement showed up to stop the festivities and the planes continued to land. I never went back, but have always wondered whether this was a yearly occurence and what might happen if an engine ingests a firework. These weren't your small bottle rockets

Great content Gary and Steve, stay safe ... everyone💯👍💯

One other point that is worth a mention, I have trained and flown with pilots with Airline Transport Category licence's that supposably have thousands of flying hours and some of them can't fly out of a bag to save there lives, just because you have a piece of paper doesn't mean your Chuck Yeager, remember that.

Great show.

New guy flipping switches over on that one damn job. Steve's a saint!

Air India: Captain Steeveee came with notebook sharpened pencil and a smirk😂 love this debate.

"You're absolutely entitled to be wrong to be wrong Gary." Oh, that got me Captain Steeeve! 😂
You're right Gary, we do appreciated hearing the different points of view and perspectives; thank you. 👍

Electrical Engineer here… IMHO, the sensors for the engine cutoff switches can fail with a false positive in the case that there is a catastrophic electrical system failure - for example a very large electrical pulse that is over voltage or over current!  I would not assume that the physical switches ever moved if there was a catastrophic electrical system failure (pulse) prior to the “switch changes” as the sensors can be compromised by a catastrophic electrical failure e.g. a large electrical pulse through the system.

I appreciate you both and your videos a lot and I love how you both approach the air India accident differently. It's refreshing to see two professionals disagree on something, without creating any unnecessary drama about it. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely loved the debate on the Air India crash.  It’s so refreshing to see two intelligent, adult human beings have differing opinions on a topic, and discuss it free of anger, or speaking over each other.  We never see that anymore, so Thank You both for that.  I’ll make sure I do better at that as well.  I’m a 25-year Air Force veteran, retired now, and spent all of those years around pilots who flew heavy aircraft (KC-135, C-17, C-130, KC-10, etc).  I enjoyed their stories, but we’ve all moved on now, so your channels have replaced that part of my life and I feel smarter everytime I watch.

Thanks for your coverage of these events Gary & Steve.

Nice discussion.
I lean towards Gary's theories and Not Steeves.

I enjoy seeing you guys togeather   thanks guys fly safe

Bureaucracy in India is regarded as about the world’s worst so a delay in the report should not be a surprise to anyone…
