Fresh was the season that saved the Precure franchise especially when it introduced factors that are still involved in the franchise today including the villain turned Cure arcs and the 3D endings ^^ I definitely enjoyed this season because of the main quartet especially Love and Setsuna and Labyrinth ^^ That villain organization especially when it's revealed that Moebius was an Ai gave me the comparison to Power Rangers RPM with Venjix ^^ Great video as always ^^

Fresh Pretty Cure is almost perfect. It’s shame that it’s not talked about more these days. Truthfully it’s what made me really fall in love with Pretty Cure. Without it I wouldn’t be here talking about it today.

Fresh precure is my favorite season and I’m so sad that toei brushes the characters off

I would call Fresh less of a blueprint, although it did introduce many franchise staples like 3D dancing EDs and having multiple types of monsters that power scale with the Cures, and more an act of cutting out a bunch of pieces of the existing blueprint to make "what Precure is" wider. You could now have a Precure season with a different art style! You could have a character from another world become a Precure and not have to use a different power source or be called something else! Monsters of the week didn't have to have the -naa suffix, the team didn't have to attend the same school, heck, with the Miyuki red herring, they even laid the groundwork for adult Precure on the main team even though that wasn't followed up on until Healin' Good. Precure changed in Fresh because *more things could be Precure*.

Yes Precure 5 GoGo didn't flop that's an urban myth. It actually had better merch sales than Yes 5 and only slightly worse tv ratings. Fresh was a make or break series, because it was a test to see if Precure would have legs without it's orignal staff.

I also love how in fresh precure, inori attends a Christian school which goes with her being the cure of faith. And how the villains in precure are named after directions
Westar-west
Soular-south
Eas-east
Northa-north
Which also might be mentioned in the bible

Great job with this video. You really laid out the details on what makes Fresh such a pivotal piece of the Pretty Cure franchise because as you said, this is where many of the tropes and foundations of the series originated from. Core themes to designs regarding said theme.

I especially agree with what you said about Cure Passion and how her arc in turning a new leaf is still the literal peak of reformed Precures as no other one have came close since, no matter how much they want a piece of that pie and imo, I think Cure Peach is still one of the more underrated and badass pink leads. She’s a punching cure that walks so Cure Sky can run.

Reminds me of how Awakening and Houses saved Fire Emblem from being discontinued, with new things using some of the classic premise.

Fresh is still my all time favorite season over a decade later

Glad to see the best Precure season getting some love! Fresh Precure really was the start of many franchise staples, it’s impressive how well the dance EDs still hold up!

Fresh is one of my fav cure seasons.

I thought the fruit naming convention tied back to the word fresh. Fresh fruit. Fresh dance moves. Fresh story content

Fresh is my all time favorite and i still like it.

Fresh was my first season and I loved the style cause it was easy to draw as a kid. Also surprised how much perfume pops up when you research girls anime.

Such a good season! Its the first precure series I finished. I love the plot twists so much and the villains are cool

I LOVE FRESH SO MUUUCH it's such a good blueprint for making magical girl ocs for me

New Precure youtuber!  Thank you for the content!

The thumbnail???? Art.

I didnt know you made content. Insta subscribing.

Watching this video made me really miss how PreCure seasons between Fresh and Happiness Charge tied multiple themes together. The religious symbolism in this season is so obvious, yet somehow managed to be subtle! I always knew that Cure Passion diving into the water during her transformation was related to baptism! I always think it’s interesting when anime has Christian symbolism since Christianity isn’t common in Japan——but that symbolism works great with the magical girl genre for some reason! Look at Saint Tails, Wedding Peach (which gets a lot of Fresh comparisons), and Phantom Thief Jeanne. Tokyo Mew Mew also had something going on with Mew Zakuro.
