I really resonated with your self agency comment. Society is very opposed to that and it has motivated me to learn so many skills to be self sufficient. I’m gearing up to give this lifestyle a shot.

I found your channel about 10 years ago when I was a teenager and the van life concept has always stuck with me even through doing everything the ‘right’ way. Interesting that you posted this now because I finally have almost everything ready to try. I bought a long bed pickup with a high cap, set up solar, and a compatible source of income. It does make me think!

Great video💜 I agree the great out doors is the best part of van life!!

❤❤❤

So glad to hear from you ❤

Hi Julia! ❤ I think you have much wisdom to impart. Thank you for caring enough to share your knowledge. Always look forward to hearing your thoughts 😊❤️

Glad to see you!!! Keep on truckin' like the doo-dah man!!!

Great video🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

so true:virtualhug:

You are a hippie Julia ❤️ and a Dead Head and you have seen so many places and meet so many different people. And you have Bambi. And you have a positive solution 🎉 Peace and Love 💕

I hope to one day to have that adventure. The money for the van has been saved. Commitments keep me at home. We'll see.

You hair looks amazing! I have to also imagine it is SO MUCH HARDER than it was 11 years ago because the daytrippers and weekend warriors have RUINED It. I used to car camp when I was in undergad whenever I wanted to go on a secret tripo and I NEVER Needed a hotel. It was SO EASY in 2000/1998 to throw a 6 pack of soda, a small cooler of food, some blankets and a pillow into the back seat of my car and back then you could sleep overnight ANYWHERE, basically as long as you left no trace, came in at night and left in the dark of the morning. I always stayed in hotel parkinglots with NO problem back in those days. NO ONE CARED. But the folks who tried to park 20 ft long RVs in those lots and put out chairs and awnings and emptied pee bottoes onto the pavement and left garbage everywhere RUINED IT for us all. I wish that NOMAD Movie had never been made because it ruined it for those of us who stayed clean and quiet and left no trace. It van life today was like it was in 2000 you would want to continue I bet

Hey Julia!
Been with you since the dreadlock days and hold you and Bambi in my prayers. Had a thought.. what about living in a shared house or apartment with another vain life person who shares in the joy of simplicity?

I see youtube not notifying me of new videos. Had to come to the channel to see whats up.

Great stream, Julia - though I like to call you Julie... :)))))))))))))))
Cheers from Lisbon, my friend.

You are so right about the “gubermint”  not liking independent thinkers and doers. As if we need permission and blessings from them for every aspect of our lives. Self agency is the answer.

Great video Julia 😊

I hope the cleaning business does well for you. As people get older the chances of health problems increase and it won't mix with living in a van.

Well said, Julia.  I believe you nailed it.  Im back in a house because of health and life responsibilities, and that's ok in my heart and soul - thats me!  But you know, the free spirit in me is itching to get back off this porch.  I've updated my van, again.  I keep it ready to go!  I've actually made it more basic and  removed a narrow stack of wood shelves I made because they made me feel claustrophobic.  I put those things in Hefty totes, which is an upgrade from my first original days where I always used laundry baskets to organize and move. I've had my life struggles in the past living pay check to pay check, renting from place to place, and just trying to put food on the table.  So yeah, van life is no big deal to me and is a wonderful alternative.  I knew about it the 70's but didn't think I could do it back then, and work, which was wrong.  I would have got a short bus and home schooled, but that's hind sight.  Also I've known other single moms that have done that with mixed feelings about not having stability or have flourished. Economics deffinetly has a big impact on life attitude.  My most lean year when Santa didn't have much cash was one of the most appreciated, and that made me happy, I have a very kind loving son.  More stuff deffinetly does not mean more happiness, but having enough money for basic needs of life like food and clean clothes, for me, does - ive gone hungry before just to feed my son,   It wasnt fun!  Anyway, just a lil comment for your algorithms.  Ty for sharing.  Ohhhhh, Sugar ants hate apple cider vinegar, it kills their scent trail.

Van life is now a faded dream for me. Getting older and getting ill (still am) will not happen for me in this lifetime. I wanted to do van life, because as long as I can remember, I dreamed of just traveling, even as a young child. But there was no knowledge or thought about how I would travel. As I got older it was focused on traveling in a van. It really was for a sense of freedom and simplicity. None of these happened and I still strive for a sense of freedom, cognitive dissodence etc. I continue to seek this.:cat-orange-whistling::face-orange-biting-nails::hand-orange-covering-eyes:
