"I'm Romeo... we grew up together... remember? We're best friends..."
Rips my fucking heart out

I love the story of Romeo so much. It's heart breaking to know Geppetto was deliberate in sending the likeness of his best friend to kill him. I really really hope we get to see more of him, his little snippets of memories with Carlo are one of my favourite parts of the game

Mad Donkey knew it all, at the start he calls P 'the Devil's puppet'

Oblivious of all of this, I still found it strange to encounter Geppetto after the fight with Romeo. It was the first time my instinct said something was up with him.

It only gets sadder after you play the DLC

Romeo died TWICE by the hands of his best friend. Once as Carlo reanimated as the Nameless Puppet and again by the Puppet made on the image of Carlo, containing his very own Ergo.

I really like what they did with the Pinocchio story in this game

Now I feel really bad for Romeo and his subordinates. Thanks for offering insight into these characters.

Oh man I never realised how desperate Romeo sounded during his boss fight, that's so tragic! Loved the video!

I feel so bad for killing king Romeo, they should added option to join him

I would love to see a re-do of this video with all the things we've now learned from the DLC. So much more context now; all the dots are really connecting.

Even when Geppetto ordered the frenzy, the puppets didn't kill just any human,  the loophole Geppetto used to make them get around the law of not harming human is killing only the ones with the petrification disease, as the petrification disease turns them into monsters and they're not considered human anymore by the puppets.

After playing the DLC you realize he was Carlos best friend and peer under the training of Lea. He was kidnapped by arlecchino to draw out Lea and after the battle Gepetto swooped in and killed Lea  who was weakened by petrification and took Romeo’s body and made him into the king of puppets to use as a scapegoat for the puppet frenzy. Gepetto broken after the loss of his wife Camille and son Carlo caused the puppet frenzy to collect a mass amount of ergo to bring Carlo back to life. Pure evil delusion

Listening to Romeo’s message for us gutted me. I sat there for a good half hour sobbing.

I suspect gepetto from the beginning , the way he order us to be a good boy and to only listen to him feels strange to me.I played so many games but this is just a masterpiece

It’s even worse when you realize Romeo’s death was essentially the entire catalyst for for everything that happens in krat ; from what we know in overture now the death of karlo was what broke romeo and it’s what gets him killed by arlechino and it’s what destroys lea completely

this game have one of the sadest darkest lore of all souls games, something about being at time of a great calamity and not 1000 years later of suffering , LOP is my fav dark lore story

Finally got to watching this.. best character in the game! Romeo is just awesome!

Great video! Lies of P's story is so well done, going back through NG+ and hearing what the puppets were actually saying this whole time is heart breaking.

I would love a video on Sophia next! I remember the first time it clicked that the respawn mechanic is Sohpia turning back time for you so you can keep trying to free her. Blew my mind lol

Lore needs update... we learned from the dlc that Romeo and Carlo were students of the legendary stalker Florence Monad... and that Romeo was kidnapped by arrechinno! Geppedo killed Florence and took Romeo unconscious body...

Wait so Romeo was actually protecting the citizens?
