This is a song by Richard Wright, not David Gilmour or Pink Floyd as a whole.

Some songs ARE for lying down and enjoying eyes closed dark room good night!!

I saw them in 87 and 94, utter rubbish if you call those albums and tours a 'flop'. The Pulse Concert tour was the best overall show I ever saw in 500+ concerts from 1971 to 2019. You are entitled to believe what you want but they are a top 3 band in my lifetime with the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and where still post Roger Waters. End of story! 🤘

Roger was a big part of what drove Richard to that low point in his life. By that time, Roger was in his full blown megalomaniac phase. This song was written by Richard detailing his experience of coming back from that dark place, with help from people around him, David being a big part of that. Listen to the words and music, keeping that information in mind. Also, Richard's a classicly trained jazz musician, which is why this song has that feel. This version is slightly stripped down. Listen to the original version from The Division Bell, it's filled out more and has a more classic Pink Floyd sound.

None of Pink Floyd's songs were written to entertain people, they were written to connect to truths, it's probably just not your genre.

Fat Old Sun from this concert is absolutely incredible.

The song was revamped from the Atom Heart Mother version. Brilliant.

RIP Dick Parry and Richard Wright They are from the UK that is why the words are drawn out

I wasn't very impressed with this song when I first heard it either, but now it is exceptional imo. Some songs have to grow on you.

Just shows their talent and versatility no matter who’s involved

This reminds me of Echoes; Dave and Richard were the main singers (which I did not realize all these years til I saw the first Pompeii video.)

I have this concert on Blu-ray. It's half PF stuff and David's On An Island album in full.

Fantastic song

@emtallmoose9436 2 weeks ago

Yes, skip "The Final Cut" and jump to "The Division Bell". You won't be sorry and you can always go back to "The Final Cut".
