It really feels like education edition was a checklist item that was mandated by some organization and that no one would actually try to use or scrutinize it
The 'mythical' blocks would have been a good opportunity to teach about synthetic elements, as well as how hypothetical additions to the periodic table would be categorized (with clear acknowledgement of speculative aspects), but I guess just putting down a '???' is fine too.
Education Edition reeks of someone who almost gave a damn but stopped short.
Honestly it seems like education edition was some interesting idea someone had, and they started making it, but at some point they just kinda gave up and now they really don't care about making it good anymore
Not gonna lie if education edition features were present in Java and the various new machines were craftable, it would make for a sick experience to play with it like some mod packs
What I probably would have done is make cobblestone have the same composition as stone and obsidian the same one as lava (and make them accurate to the real life composition of obsidian). Cobblestone and Obsidian both coming from Lava while cobblestone also comes from stone which obviously isn't obsidian is always gonna be a contradiction, but I'd say cobblestone is more associated with stone, while obsidian only comes from lava (both in real life and in the game).
2:09 The sentence beginning with "Whilst" is not proper grammar anywhere. It could be better if it were merged with the previous sentence with a comma (for an example). By being written like this, it sounds like the sentence is going to continue to contrast the life elements against something else. An example of what i mean: "Whilst living things are largely carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, *computer chips are mostly made of silicon*."
The whole education edition site has these small but enough-to-trip-you-up errors like that.
The inclusion of an extra hydrogen makes sense in water, since it implies it is slightly acidic. We see this with the drip-stone forming stalactites from dissolving limestone. I think it was unintentional, but luckily there is some science behind their inclusion. I do wish they could have demonstrated pH changes in water with the material reducer somehow, perhaps by having more acidic water added, with it creating more H+ than less acidic water. Maybe they could even show this with basic water having more OH-.
late to the party but did you get outright banned from minecraft's submission forms? getting your submission deleted and not being able to post anything else feels like a shadowban of some kind - like mojang got so offended by your post that they aren't going to let you send feedback ever again.
