This channel is basically the “Calm” app for Camera nerds. Anyway, goodnight everyone…

As much as I love the 6D, this review is a cross between listening to a radio 4 broadcast at 3am on a Sunday morning, and some sort of non-governmental mind-control content, in a Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster, that went straight to netflix…

My favorite camera! I prefer it for portraits, second camera for weddings, and street photography. Lightweight and great rendering from the sensor. Pair it with a 40mm pancake lens ::chefs kiss::

Grand prix for the most soothing review.

Awesome review; no bragging just the description enough for anyone to go out and buy it. The voice is bliss

@christophercole8114 11 months ago

I'm someone who's done photography for my local paper and been hired for weddings, anniversary parties, birthdays and graduation photos. I've also done landscapes and portraits, macro and shot some sports. While my 6D isn't my "go to" for sports, it excels in all the other ones. I do a lot of concert reviews and my 6D is a lowlight champion. I've captured incredible images.

I recently bought a 6D mk II but I won't hesitate to continue to use my 6D. Proper technique and shooting habits will overcome any "flaw" the 6D has.

Got mine in 2014 and have used it ever since. In 2026 it's still going strong!!😊 It's a great camera to start your photography journey.😊

Sorry you are wrong...this is a great pro camera for professional work. I have 5dmk3 & 5dmk4 and still like to use my 6d mk1 and 5d mk1. Great cameras.

Wow ! Just love your voice and background music. Better than 6D

@arthur-yx3gk 2 years ago

Just picked up a used one. Always use Nikon but after giving the D6 a spin, I am amazed at the quality of the images.

The video is missing some point. The 6D features an integrated GPS receiver and WiFi connectivity. The GPS receiver puts position data to the EXIF of the image file, and the WiFi connectivity makes it possible to control the camera with a smartphone and transfer images to the smartphone. These two features set the 6D apart from the more expensive 5D, 5D Mk. 2 and 5D Mk. 3. Its biggest drawbacks are its overall outdated AF and its weak performance in live view mode. The screen in the back is fixed, and it is no touch screen, and the AF in live mode is so slow that it is barely usable. If you love the 6D, but not its drawbacks, get a 6D Mk. 2. It has a better, faster AF, a tilt and swivel touch screen and a really fast dual pixel AF in live view mode. I absolutely do not care for video, but the 6D Mk. 2 also has a better video quality and a 3.5 mm stereo jack for a microphone.

The 6D Mk. 2 is the only full frame DSLR Canon ever made with a tilt and swivel touch screen.

I own a 6D and a 6D Mk. 2 and I love them both.

Thanks for the insight, I bought a 6D from Kamerastore with less than 15K actuations for $500. Since I have multiple Pentax 645 lenses, I purchased an adapter for the camera to use. At some point, may actually consider getting a 35 and 50 prime for when I travel, 645 glass is mighty hefty.

I almost shoot only portraits. I used to work as a portrait photographer. I LOVE the 6D for this, I use only the center focus point and reframe. I also miss my 7D. :( I kind of like the "first of everything". I have shot a lot of Canon up to the 5d MK4 and the 1D-X. And some Phase One and Hasselblad (that was NOT my own cameras!). I had to stop my professinal photo because of illnes. Point being, what I am using now is the 6D, 5D MK2, the 70D and the first EOS-M. Because of the budget, but also because I love SLR's. :) But the 6D needs good glass!
Nice video by the way. :)

This was the most soothing review i've ever watched. I'm a beginner and this was the camera that was recommended to me during a two-day seminar. I have my eye on one second-hand. The lady was telling me that she never checked the shutter count but she used it professionally and it was probably quite high. Turns out it was about 20k. I'm quite excited about it.

I'm in the market for a spare body after the holidays and the 6d is on the list because over the years I have accumulated several good EF lenses. These lenses will work better on full frame than on crop bodies, at least according to DXOmark. I will probably go for something more modern like an SL2 or M50, but in the used market 6d is worth looking at. Anything with less than 50,000 actuations will probably outlive me!

The 6d is huge in my hands, that looks tiny in yours, i didnt think my hands where that small :D

I used a Canon Rebel T6 for many years and recently my son gave me his 90D. Wow what a difference the newer technology makes. What was the last full frame dslr Canon made and how does it compare to the 90D?
